Rating: PG-13
Summary: Memorable first dates.
Disclaimer:

A/N: It has been awhile since I wrote the first part, but I’ve gotten busy and actually was trying to think of what to write for Arizona. Enjoy!

The two women sat in the bar laughing.

“Seriously, Calliope. Were you really grounded for a month?”
Callie was still laughing. “Yes, it was horrible. I ended up watching the news with my father every night, just so I could watch something on television. I hoped that me practicing my trumpet frequently would make him cave, but it didn’t. Although Aria was ready to kill me. Did you ever have any memorable dates like that?”
Arizona thought for a moment. “No, but the first time I brought Joanne over to my house was an adventure.”
------
It was two days before Christmas and Arizona walked home from school. Living only down the block from her high school made it convenient. In tow with her was Joanne. Just a couple of days before, they decided to date exclusively. Arizona was looking forward to bringing her new girlfriend home, although she was not sure how to break the news to her parents. As they were aware, she was straight, and she knew this news would surprise them. So, she decided to bring Joanne over for the afternoon and tell them after the holidays, so they could get used to the idea of Joanne first.
“Maybe this wasn’t a good idea,” Joanne said as they walked.
“Relax, it will be fine. Besides, are you out to your parents yet?” Arizona asked.
She made a good point. Both girls were high school seniors, so they did not want to curse their luck with springing news that could potentially ruin their relationships with their families.
“I doubt my mom will even notice today anyway. Two of my sets of aunts and uncles came today for a few days with their kids. Plus, my mom is watching a couple of the neighbor’s kids as well until tomorrow, and my brother is home from college and we have a little sister. It will be chaos.” Arizona mentioned.
Before they got to Arizona’s yard, they stopped. Arizona gave Joanne a kiss before heading to the house. Once inside, Arizona was right. Kids were running around yelling and screaming. She made her way to the kitchen where her mother and brother, Mike, were.
“Hi, mom. This is my friend, Joanne. We have no homework over the break, so we decided to hang out this afternoon, if that’s okay.”
“Oh, sure honey,” Arizona’s mom said. “By the way, you and Mike are going to be sleeping in the basement with Angel, Melissa, and Ryan in the game room. I gave your room to Aunt Suzie and Uncle Rick because of your bathroom and Veronica still being too little to stay with the older kids.”
Arizona sighed. “And where are the rest of the kids sleeping?”
“In the main room of the basemen.” Mike said cheerfully. “Well, Ashlee and Kara will be in the guest room because they have been in there since last week when their parents dropped them off, but they’ll be gone tomorrow. This will be so much fun,” he added putting his arm around Arizona’s shoulder.
“Oh yeah,” she added rolling her eyes. After that, she pulled Joanne downstairs; hoping there would be nobody around. And she was right. They sat down on the blanket and toy infested couch.
“I’m so sorry,” Arizona apologized.
“Don’t be. This is sort of fun. Almost an adventure.”
They went in to kiss when Melissa interrupted them.
“Hey cuz!” She yelled to Arizona.
Arizona liked Melissa, but she was not happy she interrupted her time with Joanne.
“Hey, Melissa. Did you get your learner’s permit yet?”
“I sure did,” the brunette looked happy. “But this sleeping arrangement is ridiculous. There are 11 of us kids, plus your neighbor’s kids. And Tina just flooded the upstairs bathroom and locked the door when she came out.”
Arizona and Joanne giggled a little. “Oh, this is my friend, Joanne,” Arizona said introducing her girlfriend to her cousin. Melissa shook her hand and then was gone because her mom called her up the stairs.
“Wow, you weren’t kidding when you said it would be chaotic here,” Joanne noted.
“Yeah,” Arizona said. “Aunt Suzie and Uncle Rick have five kids. Melissa, who was just down here, is sixteen. She’s awesome. Angel is fourteen. And then Brody and are nine-year-old twins, leaving Veronica at two. Then my Aunt Kate and Cody have Ryan, who is also sixteen, Joey who is ten, and Tina is six. My sister, Cassandra is also six, and you met Mike.”
Soon, the younger boys came running downstairs yelling and shooting each other with foam darts.
“Let’s go into the game room,” Arizona motioned to Joanne.
They walked in there and found the room a bit messy too with a couch and 4 cots set up around a pool table and television.
“I’m sorry about the mess,” Arizona apologized again. “If you want to go home, I understand.”
“No, don’t worry about it,” Joanne insisted. “My mom would not leave us alone at my house. So the kids getting into mischief helps us not get caught.”
Arizona knew she was right and went in to kiss Joanne.
“I have your Christmas present upstairs,” she said. “I’ll go get it from my room.”
Arizona went up to her room to grab her present for Joanne and got them some drinks and cookies as well.
“I hope you like it,” she said as she handed the box to Joanne.
She opened it and inside was a snow globe with a ballerina inside because Joanne was a dancer.
“Thank you Arizona,” she said and then kissed her. “This is for you,” she handed a box to Arizona.
Arizona opened the box and there was a little charm bracelet inside. It was one that Arizona had seen at the mall when they went a few weeks before.
“This is so pretty. Thank you.”
They kissed again. And soon they were on the pool table locking lips. They did so until Mike came in unexpectedly.
“Sorry. I didn’t know you two were in here,” he said shocked.
Arizona and Joanne got off the pool table immediately and straightened themselves out.
“I need to use the restroom,” Joanne left the room quickly.
“Are you two a couple?” Mike calmly asked Arizona.
Arizona stood there looking shocked, not sure of what to say to her brother. She finally spoke.
“Yes. I am gay. Please don’t tell mom or dad. I want to tell them after everyone has gone home, and so I can give dad a special Christmas present, which I’m sure he won’t want if he knows this.”
Mike just stared at her for a moment. He went over to his sister and hugged her.
“Don’t worry. Your secret is safe with me. And honestly, I kind of thought you were because of your Cindy Crawford poster, but I didn’t know how to ask and didn’t want to upset you.”
Arizona smiled. “Thank you.”
Later on, dinner came. Joanne stayed. Arizona and Mike ate in the kitchen with their older cousins, while the rest of the kids were in the dining room with the adults. Dinner was pizza because the meal would be a big deal the next two days with grandparents and other relatives coming. Arizona held hands with Joanne under the table and subtly rubbed her leg a little. Soon, Joey and Aaron came into the kitchen to get some water, but started trouble as well.
“Hey, Melissa.” Aaron came up to one of his sisters. “Are you gay?”
“What?” Melissa asked confused.
“I think he means are you happy?” Mike said, trying to end the conversation.
“No I don’t,” Aaron insisted. “I saw Arizona kissing her friend and then she said she was gay. So, since Melissa is only a year younger, will she be gay too?”
“What?” Angel yelled after spitting out her coke. “Are you gay, Arizona?” She was shocked, but also laughing about how stupid her little brother sounded.
“It’s not funny!” Arizona yelled. She was getting upset. Suddenly, her father appeared in the kitchen to see what was taking the boys so long.
“What’s not funny? He asked.
“Arizona was kissing Joanne in the basement and told Mike she was gay,” Aaron informed his uncle of the conversation. “I saw them when I was peeking through a basement window outside.”
Arizona was so embarrassed at that point, that she got up from the table crying. She couldn’t even face her dad because she knew it was true and there was no way she could lie her way out of what happened. She went up to her bedroom, although her aunt and uncle were set up in there. She grabbed her suitcase and just started throwing whatever clothing she could find in a hurry. She tore the Cindy Crawford poster off her wall and snuck downstairs. Her family and Joanne were still in the dining room and kitchen, so she walked out the front door and started walking the three-mile trip to the bus station. It was snowing and pretty hard at that. She kept walking and crying.
Soon, a mini van came down the street and stopped when it got to her. It was her father.
“Get in the car,” he said.
Arizona was very scared, but she obliged. He did not start driving. They just sat there for a moment in silence.
“Where are you going?” Arizona’s father finally asked her.
“I’m going to New York to live with aunt Gertrude. She’s miserable so she won’t notice or care about what I do. Plus, I need somewhere to live now.”
“And where did you get that idea from?”
Arizona paused. “When Aaron told you about me and Joanne, I thought you were going to ask me to leave, so I thought I would do it before you could.”
Her father sighed. “Aaron was always sort of a blabber mouth and a bit annoying. I spoke to your mother briefly. This news actually didn’t surprise her too much. But, why did you keep this a secret?”
“I thought you were going to be mad and stop loving me,” Arizona responded. She started crying harder than she already was. “I was planning on telling you, but I wanted to wait until everyone was gone. Now I’ll be the discussion and treated differently from everyone but mom and Mike.”
Arizona and her father just sat in the car for a long time before finally speaking again.
“Are you still doing well in school?” her father finally asked.
“Yes. That was actually going to be a Christmas surprise for you, dad. I made the high honor roll again, and I got accepted to college. I want to become a doctor.”
Arizona was not used to her father being understanding, but he hugged her.
“Come home,” he said. “If you still want to. I think Joanne is still there.”
“Thank you, dad,” Arizona said.
“No, thank you, Arizona.” And they drove back to the house.
They walked in the house and all the younger kids were getting ready to go to bed. Arizona’s brother, older cousins, and Joanne were glad that she came back.
“I’m sorry, Arizona. I wasn’t laughing at you for being gay,” Angel explained. “My brother is just an idiot and should have respected your privacy.”
“It’s okay. I just overreacted, and I know Aaron can be stupid. But, thank you for understanding.”
Arizona’s father interrupted for a moment. “Joanne, it’s snowing really hard outside. You are more than welcome to stay over tonight and I’ll give you a ride home tomorrow.”
Joanne agreed. She took the cot that Arizona would have slept on, and Arizona slept on the floor on top of blankets. She was glad that everything was okay with her family and that she had the best girlfriend in the world.
------
“Wow,” was all Callie could say. “Crazy dates for both of us.”
Arizona laughed. “I know, right? But, now I know everything is perfect.”
She leaned in and kissed Callie. The night was just getting better.

Title: Thanksgiving
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Arizona
Rating: PG-13
Summary: The craziness of Thanksgiving after Callie has an accident.
Disclaimer: All characters and other copyrighted material belongs to their rightful owners and no profit is made.

It was the night before Thanksgiving.  Callie was getting herself ready to go meet Arizona at the hospital to head over to Joe’s.  She was all ready at home wearing a sexy red dress and her favorite black high heels.  Callie looked at the time and realized she was going to be late, so she rushed.  Out in the hallway, she ran into Mark.

“I have to go meet Arizona now. I’ll see you later,” she said as she headed into the stairwell.

Suddenly, as Callie was rushing down the first flight of stairs, she slipped and fell, causing her to fall down the rest of the stairs.  At the bottom, she felt her left leg throbbing in pain.  She tried standing up, but could not because the pain was so bad.  Her pager went off, and she knew she was in trouble.

A minute later, Mark came rushing down the stairs. He saw Callie sitting at the bottom crying and not getting up.

“What happened?” he asked.

“I slipped and fell down the stairs,” Callie said with a pained look on her face.  “I tried getting up, but my leg hurts too much, and my pager went off.”

Mark soon checked out the extent of Callie’s injuries.

“Can you move your leg?”

Callie tried, and had no luck.  She cried even more.

“It’s okay,” he said, trying to calm Callie down.  “I think Derek is waiting outside in his car. Let me go check.”

Mark quickly ran outside and Lexie came running down the stairs.

“Did you get paged?” she asked Callie as she came jogging down the stairs.

As soon as she saw Callie’s leg, she knew there were bigger issues to deal with.  Mark came inside again with Derek behind him.  At this point, Callie’s leg was swelling pretty badly.

“We’re going to take you to the hospital,” Mark calmly told Callie.  “Lexie, let them know we are on our way.”

Mark and Derek each had Callie wrap her arms around their shoulders and they lifted her.  They carefully put her in the back of Derek’s car and drove the very short distance to the ER entrance.

Inside, Arizona was waiting for Callie.

“This is so unlike her to be late,” she thought as she checked her watch.

Owen came to the door.  “Have you seen either Dr. Torres or Lexie Grey?  They were paged, but neither has come through yet,” he said to Arizona.

“I haven’t seen either of them. Calliope was supposed to meet me here, but she’s late.”

Soon, Lexie was running inside.  “We need a wheel chair out here,” she yelled.

Arizona was confused, but soon saw Mark and Derek lifting Callie.  As soon as they entered, she freaked out.

“Are you okay?” she ran over to Callie who was being placed in a wheel chair.

Callie winced. “I don’t know. It might just be a really bad sprain,” she tried minimizing the pain and seriousness.

Soon Mark was wheeling Callie to get a x-ray.  Arizona followed behind.

“How did this happen?”

“I was rushing to meet you here and I fell down a flight of stairs.”

“Oh, Calliope. Don’t ever do that again.  Your safety is more important than being on time.”

Arizona helped Mark do a quick examination before taking some x-rays.  Then Callie was wheeled into an examination room where Arizona waited with her.

“Do you still want my parents to come tomorrow? What about everyone else, since we were going to have everyone come over?” Arizona tried staying calm and hoping Callie would be okay.

“Yeah, your parents should still come. Everyone should come.” Callie replied.  “We’ll be out of here in a couple hours. I can rest up enough for dinner.”

Arizona hoped she was right.  About an hour later, Cristina came in looking all thrilled.

“There’s good news,” she said.

“Let me guess, my leg is just really swollen, and I’ll be able to walk tomorrow?” Callie asked with some hope.

“No, you’re going to need surgery.”

“How is that good news?” Callie asked.

“Because I get to scrub in.”

Callie just shook her head.  Soon, Bailey came in carrying the x-rays of Callie’s leg.

“Now, I know you understand how to read these, Callie, but you are my patient, so you will not diagnose yourself.”

Callie nodded in agreement.

“You broke your leg from the fall. You will need a cast for the next six to eight weeks.  However, you tore a few ligaments in your knee, and you will need surgery to repair the damage,” Dr. Bailey explained, as she showed Callie the x-rays and what would be happening.

After Bailey was done, she ordered Cristina to administer some painkillers to Callie so she could be more comfortable.  An hour passed and Callie started acting odd from the painkillers.

“I love you,” she said looking at Arizona and giggling a little bit.

“I know you do,” Arizona said kissing Callie on the temple.

“Your lips feel nice.”

Saying that, Callie started laughing really hard.  Mark came in to see what was so funny.

“Do you have nice feeling lips too?” Callie asked him.

“Uh, maybe,” he said to Callie.  “What is she on?” he whispered to Arizona.

“Morphine,” Arizona whispered back.  “She should be headed to surgery really soon, right Callie?”

“If you say so,” Callie answered back. “Tell Bailey and Cristina that there better be butterflies and rainbows on my leg. Or maybe just pink.”

Mark started laughing hysterically.  “You should seriously be video taping this.” And he walked away laughing more.  Soon Cristina came in to prepare Callie for surgery.

“Can you do pink, butterflies, or rainbows on my leg?” Callie asked.

“What?” Cristina was unsure of what to think of her roommate’s drug induced state.

“I think what Callie wants you to do is put a pink cast on her leg,” Arizona said cheerfully.

“Yes, that would be wonderful,” Callie said smiling really big.  “Are my mom and dad coming? I think they would really like to be here incase I die.”

Arizona lied. “Sure, they’ll be here soon. But you’ll be sound asleep so you won’t know.”

“Awesome! We can set them up for dinner with your mom and dad and then we can go in my room or to the park.”

Arizona laughed while Cristina rolled her eyes at Callie.  She changed the subject.

“I’m taking you to surgery now,” she said putting a cap over Callie’s long hair and wheeling her out of the room.

“Bye Arizona! I love you and I promise not to die,” Callie said as Cristina took her to an OR.

Arizona left the room because she knew Callie would not be awake for hours.  She went down to the lobby and made a few phone calls to Callie’s family first to let them know what happened, and to see if they wanted to come down a couple of days early to see her at the hospital.  Then she was about to call her parents, until she was interrupted by Mark.

“Did Callie go into surgery yet?” he asked.

“Yeah, Cristina just took her about fifteen minutes ago,” Arizona responded.

“What are you two going to do about Thanksgiving now? Callie will still be here, and she was looking forward to cooking tomorrow.”

Arizona sighed. “I don’t know. We can’t just cancel plans now. Everyone was supposed to bring food. My parents were supposed to come.  Callie’s parents weren’t coming until Saturday, but now it looks like they’ll be here tomorrow because of Callie’s accident.”

Mark put his hand on Arizona’s shoulder.  “Don’t worry, we’ll figure something out.  I’ll put the word out to everyone and let them know what’s going on.”

Mark walked away and Arizona made her phone call to her parents.  Her mother answered.

“What’s wrong, Arizona? It’s midnight and you never call us this late.”

“Hey, mom.” Arizona tried to not sound stressed out.  “The reason I’m calling you and dad so late is because Calliope had an accident earlier. She fell down some stairs and broke her leg and now is in surgery for her knee.  I’m still not sure what to do about dinner. Everyone was coming to my place for dinner, but I don’t want to leave Calliope alone, although her parents are heading out here in the morning. What should I do?”

“Well, what were the plans exactly? Were you and Callie going to do all the cooking yourselves?”

“Oh no. Calliope and I were going to cook the turkey and she was going to bake an apple pie. Everyone else was bringing something to share.”

As Arizona was talking, Mark came back and tried getting her attention.  He would not stop.

“Sorry mom, can you hold on one second?” Arizona put her hand over the speaker before Mark spoke.

“The chief said we could move dinner here. In the attendings lounge.  If you think Callie will be up to it.”

Arizona smiled and got excited.  “That will do. Tell him thank you for me.”  She got back on the phone with her mother.

“Good news. Mark told me we could move dinner here at the hospital, since most of our guests work here anyway. I guess I will just have to go home in the morning to start cooking the turkey and pick up a pie at the supermarket.”

“Arizona, if it will help you out, your father and I would be willing to do that for you, so you don’t have to leave Callie.”

Arizona got tears in her eyes. “Thanks mom.  Actually, Calliope just lives across the street from the hospital. The stuff for the turkey and pie is over there. Just come by the hospital first so I can give you the keys to her apartment. I’m sure Cristina won’t mind.”

“Okay, we’ll see you tomorrow then.”

Arizona hung up the phone.  She went to grab her purse before heading over to Callie’s to pick up some stuff she requested to be brought over.

Once inside the apartment, Arizona took out the list that Callie had written.  She smiled and laughed a little bit because Callie wrote the list when she was high from the morphine.  While grabbing the items that made sense on Callie’s list, she added a few other items such as her bathrobe and slippers, although she knew the left one would probably not fit over her cast. She went back to the hospital and went to sleep for a couple of hours in an on call room.

Around 3:30 in the morning, Arizona’s pager went off. She checked and found that it was Bailey paging her about Callie. She ran to the recovery room where Callie was still sleeping.

“She’s going to be fine,” Bailey whispered to Arizona.

Arizona was relieved.  She took a blanket she picked up at Callie’s house and placed it over Callie’s legs to keep her warmer.  She giggled a little when she noticed that Callie’s cast was bright pink.  She knew Callie would not be happy when she saw it. Arizona then sat down in a chair and leaned on the edge of Callie’s bed, where she fell asleep again.

In an hour’s time, Arizona woke up to her shoulder being tapped.

“Hey,” said a groggy Callie.  “Happy Thanksgiving.”

Arizona kissed her on the lips.  “Glad you are awake now. How are you feeling?”

“My leg still really hurts and I’m exhausted.”

Arizona smiled.  “Just go back to sleep if you can.”

Before that could happen, Cristina checked on Callie and then wheeled her into a more permanent room.

“How long am I going to be here?” Callie asked.

“I don’t know, babe,” Arizona said as she sat at the edge of Callie’s bed.

“I’m going to miss Thanksgiving now,” Callie said very bummed.

Arizona pulled Callie in for a hug. “It’s okay. You just rest up and get better.”

Arizona embraced Callie in her arms. She rubbed her back.  Soon Callie was sleeping again. It was nearly 5am, and Arizona already knew it was going to be a long and exhausting day.

Four hours later, Arizona was woken by her cell phone. Her neck and back were sore from falling asleep with Callie. Callie was leaned up against Arizona, making her worried she would wake her up. She slipped quietly away from Callie and went to the entrance of the hospital.  Her mom was out there and she gave her the keys to Callie’s apartment.  Arizona thanked her again before heading upstairs to Callie’s room again.  Callie was awake.

“Where did you go?” she asked.

“I went to go ask Cristina something,” Arizona lied.  She really wanted to tell Callie about the new dinner plans, but felt she should stop getting excited incase Callie was not feeling up to eating with everyone else.

“I feel better, so I want to go home,” Callie said as she flipped up her blankets to look at her leg. She got the biggest surprise of her life.

“Why is my cast pink?”

“You asked for it silly,” Arizona said grinning.

“No I didn’t” Callie argued.

“Honey, you were very doped up on pain killers last night, so you probably were just excited and happy.”

“Well, I’m going to page Cristina to take it off or give me the supplies to do it myself.”

“Calliope Torres. You are not going to attempt to take off or fix your cast yourself. And you are not going to call Cristina to do it. Besides, I think it looks very pretty.”

Arizona went in to kiss Callie on the cheek.  Callie realized Arizona was right, so she quit complaining.  Then she turned on the TV to find a Thanksgiving parade on.

Around noon, the parade was over.  And Callie realized that Arizona was still sitting with her.

“Arizona? Shouldn’t you be at home now getting Thanksgiving ready for our friends?”

Arizona looked at her watch.  “Don’t worry about it. We still have time.  Hey, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much pain are you in right now?”

Callie gave Arizona a funny look. “I guess I would say an 11, since I’m tired.”

“Oh good, I’ll go see if Cristina can give you more morphine or something.”

With that, Arizona was gone.  She made a call to her parents to see how the food was coming along and Callie’s parents to see where they were.  After that, she took her time going back to Callie’s room and hoped she would forget about having Thanksgiving with their friends.  Arizona wanted the new dinner plans to be a surprise.

When Arizona got back to Callie’s room, she was with Bailey.

“Good,” Arizona thought. “Maybe she’ll forget about dinner plans.

However, Callie remembered.  She wouldn’t stop taking about Thanksgiving and their plans.  Callie was in an extremely silly mood from the morphine Cristina gave her.

“Are you still going to Arizona’s for dinner? I can’t, but I’ll have peanut butter for dinner,” Callie said, making partial sense.

Arizona motioned for Bailey to not tell Callie the truth.  She just smiled when Callie looked at her.

“Arizona. What are you still doing here? Go home. I need you to go home. I can’t have you see me eat peanut butter for Thanksgiving. Your mom and dad are probably there and locked out because you won’t go home.”

Bailey left the room laughing about Callie’s persistent annoyance to Arizona.  Arizona finally could not take it anymore.

“Calliope, the reason I’m not at home is because we are having Thanksgiving here with you. Everyone will be there. Now calm down.”

At that, Callie got excited. “Give me my make up.  I can’t let people see me look like crap.”

Arizona handed her the bag of make up Callie requested.  “Can I do your hair?” She offered.

“Sure!” Callie was excited. “Can I do yours too?”  Arizona was a little hesitant, but she agreed.

First, Arizona got behind Callie and brushed her hair.  Then she proceeded to do Callie’s hair in two french braids.  Callie was putting make up on herself.  When Arizona was done, she found that Callie had put some bright purple and black eye shadow on, with tons of mascara and red lipstick.

“Do I look pretty?” Callie asked gleefully.

Arizona was shocked, but she lied. “Of course you do.”

“Great, let me do your hair and make up now.”

Callie combed and pulled at Arizona’s hair, and used a ton of hairspray. Then she put make up on her face. When she was done, Callie was quite pleased with herself.  Arizona took a mirror and sort of freaked.  Callie had put her hair up in a high side ponytail.  Her makeup looked almost identical to Callie’s.

“Do you like it?” Callie asked with a huge smile on her face.

“Uh, yeah,” Arizona was speechless.

Callie pulled her in for a kiss and got red lipstick all over Arizona’s cheek.

“Don’t take it off,” she said.

“Well, in that case, we need to match.” Arizona kissed Callie on the cheek.  Callie laughed.

Soon, Arizona’s parents called.  They were finally at the hospital.

“Sorry Calliope, I have to go right now.”

And with that Arizona left the room. She could hear Callie harassing a nurse to get Mark for her from down the hall. She smiled.

Arizona went down to the lobby to meet her parents. They were shocked when they saw her hair and make up.

“Calliope did it,” she explained. “She gets very silly from her pain killers, so she did this to me and she did her own make up.”

Arizona’s mother laughed.  “How is Callie doing anyway?”

“I know she is in a lot of pain. I don’t blame her if she doesn’t feel up to dinner with everyone. At least her parents are coming. They should be here soon.”

They walked up to the attending’s lounge, where food was being set up, as well as tables.

“Is Callie coming?” Meredith wanted to know, so there could be an empty spot at the table for a wheel chair to go.

“I’m not sure yet,” Arizona explained. “I’ll check up on her in about an hour.

Arizona and her parents went to work to set everything up.  Soon, Callie’s father came walking in with some food. With him were a woman and a girl who looked like a younger version of Callie. Arizona smiled and walked over to them to introduce herself.  She was nervous, but excited at the same time to meet Callie’s mother and sister.

“Hi,” she said cheerfully.  “I’m so glad you could come. I’m Arizona, Calliope’s girlfriend,” she said as she held her hand out for Callie’s mom. However, the welcome did not go over as expected because Mrs. Torres and Aria could not stop staring at Arizona.  She finally realized why.

“And you are probably wondering why I’m made up to look like a prostitute. Calliope just gets a little loopy from her painkillers, and she offered to do my hair and make up. Do you want to go see her?”

Mrs. Torres nodded eagerly, so Arizona brought them to Callie’s room.  She walked in first and Callie started cringing.

“What did you do to your hair and face?”

“You. You did this to me,” Arizona said laughing a little. You should see your own face.”

Arizona handed Callie a mirror and she was shocked with how bad a job she did on her own.

“We are washing this off before going to see everyone.”

“Well, you have a few visitors now. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier, but I was afraid it wouldn’t happen or they would refuse.”

Arizona motioned Callie’s parents in the room.

“Mom, Dad, Aria. What are you three doing here today?”

“Arizona called us late last night. She told us what happened and gave us the option to come early if we wanted to,” her father said.

Callie was really happy. She couldn’t stop smiling and for once, she forgot about the pain in her leg and knee.

“If there is anything you need, let us know,” Mrs. Torres said.

Soon, Mark came in the room.

“I hate to break this party up, but I think everything is ready downstairs. Are you joining in, Callie?”

Callie nodded happily. She could not wait to sit down there with Arizona and her family and friends.

“We’ll meet you downstairs, Calliope,” her father said, leaving Callie alone with Arizona.

“We need to get this make up of now,” Callie said giggling. “I’ll keep my hair like this though, since it looks normal. Please tell me you are not keeping your hair in that monstrosity.”

“Of course I was, Calliope. You are the best hair dresser ever.” Arizona mentioned laughing as well.

After taking off the make up and fixing Arizona’s hair, Arizona helped Callie put on a pair of sweat pants and her bathrobe.  Soon enough, Callie was wheeling herself to the attending’s lounge with Arizona.

“Are you sure you feel like being here?” Arizona asked Callie before going inside.

“Of course I am,” Callie said smiling. “I finally get to meet your parents, and there is lots of good food. If I start getting tired or want to leave, I’ll let you know.”

They went into the room where all of their friends and families were.  To Callie’s surprise, her parents were actually talking to Arizona’s.

“I think that is a good sign,” Callie said looking at them.  She wheeled over to them so she too could meet Arizona’s parents.

Thanksgiving dinner was a success.  The two families sat together and chatted.  Food, drinks and stories were shared.  There was laughter over three-year-old Callie putting her favorite baby-doll inside the turkey, and it melting. Her father went out the next morning to get her a new one. And Arizona attempted to make pumpkin pie in kindergarten by smashing her Halloween pumpkin in a pan with cheddar cheese and bread.

As soon as dessert was over, Callie was ready to go back to her room and relax.  Her family and Arizona’s stayed in the attending’s lounge to talk some more and help clean up.  Arizona went with Callie for a moment to help her get back in bed.  As soon as Callie was in, she pulled Arizona in to kiss her.

“Thank you,” she said. “This was the best Thanksgiving ever.”

Don't mind me. I'm just annoyed right now.

Facebook groups about your college and run by current students = frustrating. Someone made up a group called "You Might Go to ESU when..." and of course I joined because I did go there, and many things on the list I can relate to. However, I tried adding to the list myself, but my comment got deleted. I'm thinking it's because I graduated in 2007, so the group creator can't relate to what I posted. It just makes me mad because it's an open group, so everything should be welcome.

And I have a feeling I'm not going to get approved to join in on my high school marching band's alumni group, because I graduated before this band director came. Seriously, if you aren't going to let everyone in, just say so, or say that only specific alumni can join.

Lastly, Christmas is my favorite holiday ever. However, ABC Family is annoying. Tonight they are starting their countdown to the 25 Days of Christmas, which is 25 days of holiday programming. Well, why does this countdown need to be 21 days? It's not even Thanksgiving yet.

I swear, I feel like one of the most unhirable people ever. And now I officially have no job to go back to. Working in the restaurant was not fun, but at least I was doing something for a few hours a day. Then the BS with the liquor license happened, leaving me laid off from August until possibly opening again, which should be next Tuesday. Well, I got called today and they can't hire me back because they don't know if it will be busy enough for me to be worth having on.

And I am really doubting that I got the job at the animal shelter, where I volunteer. If I can't even get that position, I feel like I'm a lost cause. How am I supposed to get another job when my 2 ins can't even get me anything? Not happy at all.

Title: Witches, Vampires, and the Devil.
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Mark
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Halloween night fun.
Disclaimer: All characters and other sources of material belong to their rightful owners and no profit is made.

Callie stood in the lobby of Seattle Grace Hospital waiting for Mark.  She was wearing a pair of black pants with a black shirt and some cat ears and did her face up like a cat.  She was waiting for Mark to appear in his costume.  They had volunteered to take kids out trick or treating, so they needed to be festive.  Mark finally showed up in a green monster mask.

“Nice mask,” Callie said grinning.  “Hope you don’t scare little children.”

“Isn’t that the point of Halloween?”

Callie couldn’t help but laugh. She kissed Mark before they went over to the volunteer table to pick up some kids.

“Becky, Maggie, and Kaylee Wheeler,” the lady at the table called.

A mother with three little girls walked over to the table.  Callie was shocked with what she saw.

“Hi, I’m so glad you two are taking my daughters out. If my husband and I were not going out, we would have done it ourselves,” Mrs. Wheeler said.  “This is Becky and Maggie, they’re 6 and twins,” she said pointing to two little girls dressed as cats, “And Kaylee is 1,” she mentioned as handing a baby in a dinosaur costume over to Callie. “She can walk a little, but watch that she doesn’t fall down.  Their grandmother should be coming at 7:30 to get them.”

Mrs. Wheeler left and Callie took charge of the kids.

“Who has to go to the bathroom first?” she asked.

“We just went,” Becky said.

“Great, lets get going then.” Mark said.

They got outside and started walking.  Callie was carrying Kaylee who wanted to be let down.  Once the tot got to the ground, she could hardly move.  Her costume was too thick and bulky.  Mark and Callie walked the kids around a neighborhood near the hospital.  They stopped in front of a house.

“That house is haunted,” Mark told the little girls and Callie.

“Let’s go inside!” yelled Maggie.

“No, we can’t.  It would be disrespectful and we’d get in trouble,” Callie said.  “Oh look, let’s go to the house with the black cat in the window,” she tried changing the subject.

“You’re a dumbass,” Maggie rolled her eyes as she said that to Callie.  “We’re not babies and your costume looks stupid.”

“Hey! That was not nice. Who taught you to talk that way?” Mark asked the little girl.

“Our mommy and daddy don’t care,” Becky said.

After that, the two girls started running to the next house, without Callie and Mark.  Callie started running after them and Mark picked up Kaylee and walked.  Callie caught up to them.

“It’s not nice to run away like that.”

“Well maybe if you weren’t such a dumbass and into your boyfriend over there, we wouldn’t need to run away,” Maggie said.

“He’s not my boyfriend,” Callie said laughing a little.

“Then why did you kiss him?” Becky asked.

“We didn’t,” Mark said coming up to them. “Come on, let’s just go to this last house and go back.”

And so they did.  Back at the hospital, Mark went to go get the kids some cupcakes and juice while Callie watched them.  He returned shortly where the girls started acting like brats again.

“Hey! This is chocolate. I’m allergic,” Becky yelled while kicking Mark in the shin.

“I’m sorry,” he said.  “I’ll go get you a vanilla one.”

Mark walked back over to the table and got another cupcake for Becky.  In the meantime, Kaylee was trying to walk a little and fell down on her butt and cried.  Callie picked her up quickly to quiet her down.  The kid’s grandma came shortly after.  They were almost as rude to her as they were to Callie and Mark, throwing their trick or treat bags at her.  They left and Callie and Mark were relieved.

“Let’s go to Joe’s now,” Callie suggested.
They went and each gulped down a drink before ordering another.

“Those kids were horrible. Well, the older two.  Kaylee had no idea what was going on.” Callie said.

“Yeah, let’s not volunteer for that duty again next year.  What do you want to do now?” Mark asked.

“We could go back to that supposedly haunted house and walk around,” Callie suggested.

And so they did.  The house was pitch black and it looked like there were some bats or something on the roof.

“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea,” Callie said.

“Don’t be such a wuss, Torres. Or a dumbass like those kids called you.”

They walked around the perimeter of the house, looking for a way to get in.  Around the back a door was partially boarded up.  Mark crawled though first with Callie behind him.  They walk around in the dark.

“There is a lot of stuff here,” Callie pointed out as she ran into a table.  It was so shaky that it broke and collapsed on the floor.

“Nice going Torres. Now the ghosts will be sure to get you tonight.”

“Shut up, Mark. Maybe they can go after the Wheeler kids instead.”

At that, Callie started laughing.  However, they were soon interrupted.  And old man came out from somewhere and scared them.

“What the hell are you doing here?” he asked.

Mark and Callie were scared at this point.  “We were just leaving,” said Mark.

“No you aren’t. Follow me to the living room.”  Once in the living room, there was a fire going and nothing else.  The room was completely dark.  The man sat in a recliner in front of the fire, while Callie and Mark sat on a nearby couch.

“You picked a really bad night to come here,” the man said.  “Ghosts lurk around here year round, but did you know that the vampires and witches come back on Halloween every year?”

Mark almost burst out laughing, but Callie elbowed him in his side.

“No, we were not aware of that,” she said. “We’re sorry, we’ll just leave now.”
“No!” the man shouted.  “It’s too late.  The vampires and witches know you are here.  The only way you can get out of here now is if you stay and chant with them.”

Callie soon rolled her eyes and was about to give him a piece of her mind, but Mark spoke out.

“Okay, what do we have to do?”

The man handed them each a costume and told them they could change upstairs.  They walked upstairs and went into the first room they found.  It was so dusty and full of cobwebs.  Callie put on a black dress and a witch hat over her costume.  She didn’t bother wiping the makeup off of her face.  Mark put on a vampire costume.

“This is so stupid,” Callie said.  “Seriously, this guy is crazy.  He’s probably planning on killing us.  We should get out of here.”

“We can’t,” Mark explained.  “We’ll be in more trouble if we leave now.  If this event is indeed happening, we can sneak out quickly.”

They were soon dressed and walked downstairs.  However, the man was no longer in sight.

“Seriously, let’s just go now,” Callie begged.

Just as they were about to walk out the front door, a lady came out of a room and questioned where they were going.

“Are you here for the main event?” she asked.

Mark and Callie looked at each other.  “I guess we are,” Mark replied.

“Good, follow me.”

Callie and Mark followed the woman through what looked like the kitchen, down a flight of stairs into the basement.  There were already many witches and vampires at the gathering, along with an abundance of black cats.  A huge cauldron sat at the front of the crowd, burning away.

“I think we’re all here,” the lady said walking to the front of the crowd.  Soon she started casting some sort of weird spells and the crowd chanted on.  Callie and Mark stood in the back, hoping to make a quiet exit.  They waited half an hour, until Mark got Callie’s attention.

“Let’s go near the stairs and wait until something huge happens. Then we’ll make a run for it.”

Callie agreed and so they snuck over there, while chanting.  They started taking off their chanting outfits and a loud boom and cloud of smoke appeared.  Some person who looked like the devil appeared.  Mark grabbed Callie’s wrist and ran up the stairs, until one board broke, causing the crowd to be disturbed.  The devil started walking through the crowd over to the stairs where he saw Callie and Mark sitting in a shadow.

“Leaving so soon?” he asked.

“Uh, yeah.” Mark tried to come up with a good excuse.  “We need to go home and…”

“Take care of our children.” Callie interrupted.  “We’re idiots for making these plans.  Good night everyone,” she waved as she attempted to make another exit.

“Stay!” the devil, said.  “You are not leaving until we are through.”

“Fine, I lied.” Callie said laughing nervously.  “We’re actually mortal.”

“Oh, really?” the witch lady said as she also came forward.  “Get them!”

Callie and Mark ran up the stairs into the kitchen as fast as they could.  They tried to find an exit, but the front door was locked.  All the witches and vampires, cats and the devil ran after them with torches.  They ran to the other end of the house, which looked like the garage.  Mark slammed the door and locked it.  They were safe for now.

“Help me lift the door,” Mark said to Callie.

It took them a few tries and the crowd was starting to break through the locked door.  Finally, they flung the door open and made a run for it.  Once out of the yard, the house looked abandoned again.  Callie and Mark waited behind a bush to see if the mob was still coming, but nothing.  They walked away and back to Joe’s.

“Dude, we are staying in next year and not wearing costumes or answering the door for any trick or treaters. Got it?” Callie said to Mark.

“It’s a deal, Torres.”

Title: What Has Happened to My Life?
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Arizona
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Angsty drama on what I think could have happened if Callie had gotten pregnant with George's baby.
Disclaimer: All characters and storylines that I did not create, belong to their rightful owners and no profit is made.

A/N: I hope this story makes sense.

She stayed with me for the entire day.  Here we were, lying in my bed, which seems like we did all day.  Being very close to giving birth in a week or two, it's all I felt I could do.  One day we were going further in our relationship, and just one incident changed everything.  George was dead.  Today was his funeral and I couldn't even face it.  After everything we had been through and I had no energy to get out of bed. Arizona was being too nice. We had a fight the day George died, and I was surprised she bothered to stay with me.  How we even got together seems like a dream.

George and I were in the middle of a divorce when I found out I was pregnant.  We were trying to have a baby, and it happened at the worst time.  George cheated on me with his best friend, Izzie.  I couldn't face him, or trust him.  Izzie made me even more mad.  How could one woman be so petty to another? I just didn't get it.  As we were filing the papers for divorce, I thought I was coming down with a stomach flu.  It didn't go away after a couple of days, so I went to the doctor and discovered I was finally pregnant.  I had to have been a good 2 or 3 weeks along because that was the last time we had sex.  I should have told him then, but I couldn't.  No matter what, I could not stay with George or trust him.  I thought not telling him was the best thing, and to avoid him at all costs when I would start showing.

Things only got worse.  I got the position of Chief Resident.  I was very excited because I got it over Bailey.  She may have been a favorite of Chief Webber, but I got the job.  However, nothing went smoothly.  All of my residents ignored me.  For some reason, they all thought I was a joke and resented that I got the position.  Izzie even tried fighting me in the cafeteria because she thought I was was going to kill her about George.  However, she tried apologizing later that day, but I did not believe her.  Finally, I was demoted by the Chief from being Chief Resident, and I found out I was pregnant.  Something that would finally bring me joy, and I couldn't be happy about it.  At this point, I was moved in with Cristina, and sleeping on the living room couch.  She was the last person I wanted to tell about my pregnancy because I knew she would throw me out on the streets.

I kept it a secret, until Mark told me he knew.  He figured it out because he noticed I never drank anymore, I had gotten sick a few times at the hospital, and I put on a little bit of weight.  I liked Mark.  He was a good friend to me.  When I knew George and I were having problems, he listened to me.  He also liked to see me happy.  So, I decided to come forward to him.  He told me to tell George, but I still felt like I couldn't.  It wasn't until Erica came in my life when I finally told him.  He and Izzie were through with their fling at that point.  He was angry with me.  After all the anger I had with George, he was finally angry with me, and had every right to be.  I lied to his mother when she made us baby clothes because she thought I was having trouble getting pregnant, but I couldn't take anything from her.  It would have been wrong.  I love Mrs. O' Malley, and I knew it would hurt her to know we got divorced, but I was carrying her grandchild.  George offered to help me with money and going to my doctor's appointments with me, but I couldn't deal with him, so I did not take him up on his offer, although I knew he would be a good father.

Erica and I were just friends at first. We really hit it off one night after a really tough day in the OR.  I came forward to her about my pregnancy, since George finally knew.  She was just the friend I needed at that point.  We hung out at Joe's with Mark.  We had so much fun on that first night that we went out again a few more times.  My baby bump was very obvious at this point, but at least Cristina did not throw me out.

I did not think anything about my friendship with Erica, until Addison visited.  I never told her I got divorced and was pregnant.  It was a huge surprise for her.  However, she did think that Erica and I were in a relationship.  I'm not exactly sure where or how she got that vibe, but it scared me at first.  I didn't want people to think that I was into girls, and that was the reason George and I did not work.  I started spending less time with Erica, and more with Mark.  I spent many nights with him for no reason at all.  I guess I got freaked out that Erica really really liked me, and I couldn't take that sort of thing at the moment.  When I finally confronted her about it, she just laughed.

However, after that incident, Mark started teasing and taunting me. Erica and I did joke about being a couple and making sexual advances to Mark, since he supposedly was done being a man whore.  During our alone time naps, he started in with the sex jokes on how I was fantasizing about Erica and other lewd comments. I ignored him as long as I could, until he told me to go be with her.  That was the first time I kissed her and a female, at that matter.  She did not stop me, but I didn't know what she was thinking.  We avoided each other for awhile.  I figured she probably just thought I was some pregnant whore who was looking for anyone to help me raise the baby.  After she helped me with a patient, we confronted each other.  We decided to start dating.

My belly grew larger, and I was about five months along.  Things were not going well with Erica.  She just made me nervous to date, so I confided with Mark again.  We ended up clashing big time about Izzie.  The incident she spoke of was not my business, and I knew everything was taken care of.  However, it was not good enough for Erica.  She got so angry that she told me I couldn't just be kind of a lesbian.  She walked away from me, and I was devastated.  I tried calling her, but she didn't answer.  I found out the day after that she left her job at the hospital was not coming back.  So I was alone again.  At least I would have the baby in a few short months.

Things got worse though.  As a distraction from Erica, I tried building a homeless man a pair of titanium legs, but he died on the table.  Then there was the patient who was still asleep.  I got hit in the face and landed on the floor.  Blood was coming from my nose, and I worried about hurting the baby.  The baby ended up being fine, but I broke my nose.  Perfect thing for all the bad things in my life.

Then, Meredith's friend Sadie came along.  She always seemed like she was flirting with me, but I was not sure.  The night I broke my nose, she had been in the hospital as well, getting into trouble with the rest of the interns.  They actually tried operating on each other, which put Sadie a little lower on my list.  She finally left Seattle when she could not keep up with the program.  And Mark left being at my side all the time for Meredith's sister, Lexie.  She is very young and probably naive.  Mark also didn't want anyone to know about their relationship, so they kept talking to me about it.  It actually made me upset and jealous because I was alone.  Yes, I did live with Cristina, but it just was not the same as having someone of my own to love me and hopefully my baby.

Finally, I was 6 months along, and I was so fed up with Mark and his secret relationship that I called him out on it in the middle of a surgery.  If he was so embarrassed to be with Lexie, then he should have dumped her.  I finally realized later when I sat with Lexie at Joe's that I was just upset for being alone, and probably very hormonal.  I went into the bathroom and cried.

Suddenly, behind me some blond lady kissed. me.  Her name was Arizona Robbins, and she was a pediatrics attending.  Somehow, she knew things about me.  She touched my belly, and felt the baby kicking.  She talked to me about finding someone who did like me and reassured me there were people. And then, she just went in and kissed me on the lips.  She smiled and walked out.  I smiled too, for the first time in a long time.

Since I was still new to the whole same sex relationship thing, I avoided Arizona at the hospital.  I was flattered that she was interested, however I questioned it.  Her being a peds surgeon made me realize that she had to like kids.  So, me being pregnant worked out in that sense.  But, why would she want to be in a relationship where that would be a focus really close to the beginning?  Regardless, I could not get her out of my head.  She was certainly the opposite of me, but her blond hair, blue eyes, and smile just rocked my world. Oh yes, and the butterflies on her scrub cap was a turn on too.

I finally got the courage to ask Arizona out on a date.  However, she rejected me.  It was something about her only being my second, so she called me a newborn.  I could not believe she compared me to a baby.  Here I was getting fatter because I was carrying a baby, and she had the nerve to call me one.  So, I felt the need to prove to Arizona that I have life experience.  I interrupted her at Joe's that evening.  I just blurted out a bunch of stuff such as being married at one time and being pregnant, being in the Peace Corps in Botswana for awhile,  and being a decent cook.  If Arizona wanted to talk experience, she had no idea of what I know.  Unfortunately, she introduced me to her female friend, who was her date.  I was so embarrassed that I left Joe's at that moment.

I avoided Arizona as much as I could.  I couldn't face the fact that she already had a girlfriend.  Was our bathroom kiss just to cheer me up?  But, why would she do that?  I couldn't hide my pregnancy any longer, so she knew.  And I was alone again.  This time it was probably for good.  Mark tried making me care about a fight he got into with Derek, but I just couldn't.  He still had Lexie, and all I had was my unborn child.

A couple of days passed and I ended up running into Arizona in the elevator.  I tried ignoring her, but she kept talking.  I finally told her that I had no problems avoiding her for the next few years.  However, she told me she was too quick to judge me and was nervous that I wanted to go out with her, so she asked me out.  I was ready to do the same thing she did to me, but I really wanted to get to know her and knew I would regret it. So, I turned around and accepted the date plan.  We went out a few times over the next month and a half.  Sometimes we would just go and hang out at Joe's and sometimes we just hung around either of our places.  I even invited Arizona to come to one of my doctor's appointments.

Things were going well for us.  I was finally happy and even started getting a little more excited for the baby.  Unfortunately, during some of this time, it was discovered that Izzie was very ill with cancer.  I felt horrible.  I could not forgive her for stealing George away from me, and had wished her dead for the longest time.  Now I was hoping she would live because I feel like it would have been my fault.  George was also not doing well with the news, although they were not dating anymore.  Better news came when she pulled through her first surgery.

Then my father came to visit.  I was almost eight months along.  He was very angry when George and I divorced, so I waited a few months to tell him and my mother about the baby.  They were not happy, but were going to stand by their grandchild.  At first when dad came, I didn't plan on telling him about Arizona.  I thought the baby was enough news.  But, I was extremely happy and he never liked any of my boyfriends, so I thought maybe introducing him to Arizona could change things.  I was absolutely wrong.  He was afraid of what I was turning into and didn't think I could be happy in a relationship with Arizona.  He threatened to get me transferred to a hospital back in Florida and to move back in with him and mom.  He also told me I could have the baby there in privacy and give it up for adoption so it wouldn't be exposed to my "dangerous" lifestyle and choices.  I couldn't do it though.  The baby and Arizona were the two people who meant the world to me at this point.  It was just too hard to give either up.  So, my father threatened to cut me off, so I did it first.   He left, and I wasn't sure how I felt.  I was happy I finally stood up to him, but I realized he wouldn't be part of my life anymore.  Arizona was there for me though.  I cried all evening, and she stayed.

The realization of cutting off ties with my father came a couple of days later.  I no longer had his money from the trust fund, or any money at all.  I needed to pay rent, plus have the money to buy essential baby stuff.  It was not a good situation.  I was unable to stand up for hours of surgeries in a day and couldn't set bones very well because of the huge bulge I call my belly.  I started doing work in the pit and lots and lots of paper work and charting.  I even volunteered to work on some of my days off running the ER.  When I could, I spent time with Arizona.  We actually went out on a date while I became a pregnant work-a-holic.  It did not suit well though.  We went out to a very expensive restaurant, and I was worried about not being able to pay, so I bought the cheapest food available.  With my worries about money, I did not let Arizona know.  Our date became a disaster and all I wanted to do was just forget I even wanted to go out with her.

Instead of going home like I was supposed to with Arizona, I slept on a couch in the locker room. It was a huge mistake because I didn't sleep very well and I was running the ER all day.  Between the excess of traumas coming in and Arizona coming around, upset about the night before, I had enough.  I was exhausted and cranky, and I didn't want her to know about the night before.  I was hoping she would just give up on me that day, but after six people died in the ER that day, she came back and suggested we were just a fling.  At that point, I didn't care.  I agreed with her and she left.

Awhile later, while I was finally getting comfortable laying down and sleeping, Arizona came back.  I was still annoyed with her from earlier, but I listened to her.  Even when she was annoyed with me, her blue eyes just sparkled and the butterflies on her scrub cap drew me in.  I finally confessed about my money situation to her.  I felt bad for blowing her off the night before, but knew I should have just told her the truth, so we wouldn't have ended up in the current conversation.  The rest of the day went very well.  We ended up at Izzie and Alex's wedding because Meredith and Derek gave their wedding up for them.  Although I was happy for Izzie and Alex, I couldn't stop looking at Arizona.  She looked lovely in her royal blue dress.  I kissed her in the church.  Then we skipped the reception because I was exhausted.  We went back to my place and ordered pizza and ate it in bed naked.

A couple of days later I woke up to Arizona not being with me anymore. She left a note next to me, telling me to meet her for lunch at noon.  I smiled.  There was no going to work for me now because I was officially on maternity leave.  It was okay.  I needed to relax after the horrible day in the ER and to get prepared for the baby.  Cristina fortunately was not kicking me out, but I had to set up a crib and everything else in my bedroom.  I figured Arizona could help me later.

I got ready for the day.  I put on a red dress and a pair of flats because it was one of the few things I owned which made me feel comfortable.  There was a knock at the door.  I was not expecting anyone to come over.  I knew Arizona and Cristina were at work, so I had no idea what to expect.  I opened the door and George was there.  It really surprised me.  I did talk to him about Izzie's cancer a few weeks ago, but we hadn't really talked much before that except for about the baby a couple of times.  I was very unprepared for what I was about to hear.

George told me that he joined the Army and was leaving the next day.  Although we were not on the best of terms, I did not want him to go.  Despite our problems, George was sweet and kind, and I love his mother.  I could just not picture him going over to Iraq.  I didn't know what to say to him.  I was starting to regret telling him that I didn't want anything from him for the baby.  I guess that got the best of me because I did ask him about our child.  He was going to Iraq when I was so close to giving birth.  That set me off, so I kicked him out and blurted that he didn't care about his daughter, which is the first time I realized that I shared the sex of the baby with anyone.

I was now upset.  I hoped that lunch with Arizona, shopping for some baby stuff, and my last ultrasound would make the day better.  The second I got inside the hospital, Bailey came up to me and asked me if I knew about George.  I told her I did, and that I was not happy.  She handed me an envelope that George had given to her to give to me, but I threw him out before he could give it to me.  I didn't feel like reading it, so I stuffed it in my purse, and then I went to go find Arizona.  We had a decent lunch, until Bailey interrupted us and got us to go over to the table where George's friends were sitting for a moment.  She came up with the plan for an intervention at six o'clock when George was getting out of surgery.  I agreed to be there to stop him.  Besides, I needed to go back later for my ultrasound anyway.  This did not fare well with Arizona though. She actually said it was awesome.  I couldn't believe what she said, and so I left.  I had the baby to think about, so I went shopping for the rest of the afternoon.

Arizona tried calling me a couple of times.  The first time I did answer it.  She didn't understand why I thought George going into the Army was such a problem.  I ended up hanging up on her.  Arizona does this thing where he calls me by my complete first name.  Usually I found it sort of funny and sweet. But not today.  She called back awhile later, but I chose not to answer it.  I still had some time before I needed to go back to the hospital, so I went home.  There, I started setting up the baby stuff I bought.  Little girl outfits got folded and put into a drawer. I still needed help with the crib, but decided it would be better to ask Mark instead.

I went back to the hospital for my appointment.  I was all alone now.  George was leaving, I wasn't talking to Arizona at the moment, and Mark was busy with Lexie.  My feeling of stress and lonesome showed in my ultrasound.  It was suggeted that I needed to start relaxing, or I could go into premature labor or end up on bed rest for 24 hours a day for the rest of my pregnancy.  I took my doctor's advice and went to go find Bailey for the George intervention.  I looked in the resident's lounge, and surprisingly found Arizona in there. I was ready to walk away from her, but I sat down and decided to listen to her.  She told me about her brother and how he was killed in Iraq.  She never shared that story with me or that she had a brother.  I felt really bad.  I still didn't want George going there, but at least I understood a bit more about Arizona's stand.  She was about to leave the room when I grabbed her wrist and apologized.  She didn't say anything except that she had a patient to go see.

I sat in the lounge for a good five minutes after Arizona left.  I knew I had blown it at that point. George left me, Erica left me, my family disowned me, now George was really leaving, and Arizona seemed to have left me.  The only thing I knew I could do was beg George to stay.  I left the lounge and found Bailey standing outside of an OR.  In just a few minutes, George would be walking out and this was my only chance to get him to think about our daughter.  However, the intervention never happened.  As we were standing there, the Chief informed us that he let George leave hours ago.  So, he never scrubbed in and we were too late.  He went to his mother's house.  I could have done the psycho thing of going over there, but I chose not to. I didn't want to start drama again or ruin the time he spent with his mother.

Despite the plan for a George intervention back firing, I stayed at the hospital for a little while in hopes to find Arizona again.  I was just about to the pediatrics wing when Meredith came running down the hall yelling something about George.  She sounded panicked.  I tried following her, but then he came running back with Derek and Owen.  I yelled to Meredith about what was going on, but she told me to stay back.  So I did.  I looked at the OR board to see if Arizona was in one of them, but no such luck.  I wanted to know what Meredith was yelling about, but did not have time to stick around, so I got ready to leave.  I was at the elevator when a nurse came up to me and told me to stay.  She had me follow her to the hallway outside  where Owen, Derek, and Meredith were working.  I was not expecting what came next.

The three of them came out of the OR.  Meredith looked really sad, and she walked away.  Derek and Owen stayed in the hallway with me.  They told me that George was dead.  I didn't believe them at first.  I thought it was some sick joke.  The look on their faces told me it wasn't though.  Apparently, some guy was brought into the ER earlier in the day and he had gotten hit and dragged under a bus.  It wasn't until Meredith was yelling through the hallways that anyone knew it was George.  The reason I was asked to stay, was to confirm that the guy they had was actually him.  George still had me listed to make his medical decisions.  So, Owen and Derek led me into the OR.  I was unprepared.  The guy on the table was mangled and a mess.  I was doubting it was George.  However, there were many features of this mangled guy that reminded me of George.  His hands, his feet, his legs. When I saw a scar on this man's leg that I knew George had, I broke down.

I cried and then suddenly I couldn't breathe.  I was hyperventilating and getting more and more upset.  I sank to the floor where Owen tried comforting me.  It wasn't until I had an oxygen mask on my face and being wheeled into an examination room when I knew what happened.  I was so upset about George and Arizona that I had trouble breathing and put the baby and myself in danger.  Fortunately, I did not go into premature labor, but after that incident, I was put on bed rest.  Arizona heard about what happened to both me and George that she was by my side immediately.  I cried in her arms and she let me.  We both forgot about our fight from earlier that day.  It didn't matter anymore.  My daughter's father was gone for good and she would never get to meet him.  After I was released from the hospital that night, Arizona drove me home and helped me get in bed.   She gave me the medication I was given at the hospital and  watched me as I fell asleep.

The next morning, I woke up.  Arizona was not in the room, just like the morning before.  I hoped the day before had been all a huge nightmare and it didn't actually happen.  But, I knew it did when Arizona came into my room and plopped down on my bed next to me. She asked me how I was doing and if I needed anything.  At that moment, I didn't.  I was just glad to have her by my side.  We sat and watched some television for awhile.  I don't recall what we were watching, but I fell asleep again for awhile.  The next thing I knew, it was about noon and Arizona made me lunch.  It wasn't anything fancy, just a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a glass of cranberry juice, and my medication.  I swallowed the pill, but did not feel hungry enough to eat.  At that point, she had to go to work.  Cristina and Meredith came over to check on me, and brought a huge stack of magazines to keep me entertained.  Normally, they would have been a great distraction, but I couldn't stop thinking about George.

The next day was George's funeral.  Although I was on bed rest, many people tried talking me into going.  Arizona did, as did Mark, Lexie, and Cristina.   It wasn't George I was afraid of now.  It was his mother.  It broke her heart after she found out about our divorce, so I couldn't bear to see her upset about losing her son.  So, I didn't go.  Arizona stayed behind with me.  However, her perkiness got on my nerves a little.  She flipped through one of the magazines from Cristina and Meredith and would not stop talking about the contents.  She also kept suggesting that I could be more comfortable sitting in the living room or she could help me bathe.  I got fed up with it, so I finally yelled and told her what was wrong.  Then I started crying again.  Arizona was silent at first.  Instead of talking she just put her arm around me and rubbed my back.  I was exhausted, so I fell asleep for a little bit.  I expected Arizona to have left then, but she was still sitting next to me when I woke up.  I kissed her and apologized for yelling at her.  She understood and forgave me.

Suddenly, I remembered the envelope from George.  It was sort of crumpled up in my purse.  I asked Arizona to retrieve it for me.  I opened it up and inside was a short note and a check.  George apologized for leaving the baby, but said it was something he had to do.  He said he would send me monthly child support, even though I asked him not to.  And the deal breaker was that if something happened to him, half of his savings would go to his mother and the other half to our baby.  I cried all over again.  I showed the note to Arizona.  Finally, I realized I had to give  up my sadness and start living my life again.  We still did not get up from the bed, but I finally started looking through the magazines with Arizona and laughing.  It wasn't a big deal, but it helped.

------------

A couple of weeks have passed since George died.  I still miss him a bit, but I have other things to worry about right now.  The baby came last week and she's doing great.  Her name is Sarah.  Arizona has been amazing and supportive.  She told me if I wanted to go to George's grave, she would go with me anytime I needed.  I decided it was time.  I needed the closure in my life.  So, we packed up the car, including the baby and went to the graveyard.  We made a stop on the way.  We went to see Mrs. O'Malley.  I felt bad for blowing her off when she probably needed me the most, and so she could see her granddaughter.  She was glad that I came by, and I was glad that I did.  And of course, she gave me all sorts of baby clothes that she made while she was dealing with her grief from George.  She told me that me and Arizona should stop by more often, so I extended the same invite to her.

Then the hard part came.  Arizona drove to the graveyard.  We got there and I almost told her to turn around and that I wasn't ready.  However, the sounds of my daughter came from the back seat and I knew I had to go.  We got out of the car and I took the baby out too.  I walked over to the grave and saw lots of fresh flowers and other greens on the ground.  Arizona and I added more to the pile.  I also added a little photo of Sarah.  I felt silly talking to George out loud, but I did.  I thanked him for everything and introduced him to Sarah.  Arizona looked over me as I did this.  Soon after we left, and for the first time in awhile, I knew everything was okay.

Title: Enchanted
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Arizona, with a bunch of other characters as well.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Callie is a princess.
Disclaimer: All characters and other familiar works do not belong to me. No profit is made either.

A/N: I got an idea over a year ago that Sara should star in a new Disney movie as an animated princess, kind of like Amy Adams in Enchanted. I ended up watching the movie and getting an idea from it for a fan fiction.

Once upon a time, in a land just outside the woods of Seattle, lived a princess named Calliope.  Calliope spent many days hanging out at the lake by herself.  Sometimes the forest animals would come out and join her.  However, Calliope was no happy with being a princess all the time.  First, she could not dirty her clothing, or she would be punished to the great tower in the castle.  Then, there was the rule that she had to marry a prince.  While it seemed like a good rule, she was just not interested in the princes who sought her out.

There was Gavin, who was too polite.  When Calliope met him, she tried taking him to the forest, but his interest was staying at the castle for music.  Then there was Jordan, who tried to be macho. To Calliope, all that mattered to him was having a penis.  He was rude and arrogant.  However, Calliope did adore her brother, Jonathan.  However, he was hardly ever home.  He would leave the palace and go to the outside world frequently.  A few times he brought back things for Calliope.  The two of them would hang out by the lake after dark with Jonathan’s friends, getting drunk, smoking, and setting off fire works.

Calliope was envious of the life Jonathan led.  He was not forced to get married.  He also went on his own adventures, which Calliope wanted for herself.  One day, Calliope got into a fight with her mother, the queen.

“I don’t like Gavin.  Please, don’t make me see him tonight,” she pleaded.

“Gavin is a nice young man.  You will see him, or else.”

Calliope did not like this one bit, so she ran out of the castle in a huff.  She ran way into the woods, where she hoped nobody would find her.  She sat on the ground and cried.  Her red dress was getting dirty, but she did not care.  Calliope thought for a moment on what she wanted to do.  Her eyes finally came across the wall, which separated the kingdom from the outside world.  Soon, Calliope started climbing a tree to get over the wall.  She got to the top of the wall, when she lost one of her shoes.  Instead of climbing back down to get it, she kicked off her other shoe and went over the wall.  She climbed down a tree on that side, and knew she was free.
On the other side of the park, Arizona was taking a run.  It was her lunch break, and she just needed to think.  She had been dating Derek Shepherd for almost a year, but felt like she was losing interest in him.  She finally got tired and stopped running.  She took a sip of the water she brought with her.  She sat down on a bench and started people watching.  Soon, she saw Calliope come along in her bare feet, dirty dress, and slightly messed up curls.  Arizona tried ignoring her presence, until she noticed Calliope talking to birds and squirrels.  She started getting up to walk away because she assumed Calliope was crazy.  But, it was too late.

“Hi,” Calliope started talking to Arizona.  “I’m a visitor to this area, and I don’t know my way around, and I’m afraid these birds and squirrels are no help.”

“Where are you trying to get to?” Arizona asked.

“My brother, Jonathan, is always bringing lovely things back home.  I think you can light them up with fire and put them in your mouth.  I also want a bottle of something to drink, which will make me happy and able to sleep by the lake at night.”

Arizona gave Calliope a puzzled look.

“Look, I don’t know what you want, but I can’t help you.”

Arizona started walking away and hoped Calliope would not follow her.  She got to the street corner, and looked back.  She found Calliope bothering other people about the same thing.  She felt bad because she had no shoes or knowledge of where she was going.  She walked back.

“Come with me,” she said.

“Where are we going?” Calliope asked, extremely excited.

“You are coming to work with me.”

Calliope followed Arizona to the hospital.  Inside, Arizona brought her to the locker room.  She took a towel out of her locker and wet it.  She cleaned Calliope off as best as she could.  She took a pair of shoes out to see if they would fit the princess.  Soon, Derek walked in.

“Who’s your friend?” he asked Arizona.

Calliope got up and started shaking Derek’s hand.

“Hi, I’m Princess Calliope.  I’m here in your land on a little trip, but I don’t know my way around.”

Derek gave her a weird look,  “You say you’re a princess?”
“Why yes, I am,” Calliope said.  “I got here through the woods nearby.  I climbed over the great wall from my kingdom and am now standing here in front of you.”

Derek and Arizona walked away from Calliope to talk.

“Why did you bring her here?” Derek asked.

“I saw her at the park talking to birds and squirrels.  She was a little dirty and had no shoes. I felt bad.”

“Did you know she thinks she’s a princess?”

“No, she didn’t mention that until just now.”

“Arizona, she could be dangerous.  We should get her to the psych ward before she does anything else,” Derek pleaded.

Arizona looked at Calliope standing there in all her grace.  She did seem a bit peculiar, but Arizona could not bear to get her a psych consult.

“No,” she said.  “I’ll keep an eye on her today.  Maybe I can get more information out of her.”

With that, Derek left.  Arizona went back to Calliope.

“He’s handsome. Is he your boyfriend?” Calliope asked.

“Yes he is,” Arizona answered.  “Do you have a boyfriend or anyone like that?”

“There are two men back in my kingdom.  I don’t like either of them, but I have to marry one of them, or else.  So, I took a break and came here.”

Arizona smiled.  “Well, you can spend the day with me. I don’t mind.  Just don’t go around telling anyone that you are a princess.”

Arizona finished her work for the day.  She got ready to go home when Derek came back.

“Do you want to go to Joe’s tonight?” he asked.

“Sure,” Arizona replied.  “I’m going to bring Calliope too, but I need to take her out for a new outfit first.”

Derek nodded and left.  Soon, Arizona brought Calliope out to her car.

“We’re going shopping now,” she said.  “Get in my car.”

“What is that?”  Calliope asked.

“It’s something you travel in, silly.  Don’t you have anything like that where you are from?”

“I ride my unicorn, Wind Dancer, there,” Calliope answered.

Arizona just laughed.

The two women shopped in the mall for a good two hours, until Calliope found something she liked.  She picked out a blue, one shoulder dress with a pair of black heels.  Arizona brought Calliope back to her apartment where they got dressed.  Arizona fixed Calliope’s curls.  When she was finished, Calliope just stared at herself in the mirror.

“Are you my fairy god mother?” she asked.

Arizona laughed. “No I’m not, but I think you will make some men very happy tonight.”

With that, Calliope kissed Arizona on the cheek to thank her for prettying her up.  However, Arizona got a little nervous.  She thought she had read too much into the kiss, but she almost thought Calliope was coming on to her.

They left for Joe’s and met Derek and Mark.  Through the evening, Arizona was encouraging Mark to be nice and talk to Calliope, but was feeling oddly jealous.  She was not sure if she just had too much to drink or what.  Derek was annoying her as well with talking about Calliope.  He kept suggesting turning her into the police and that she was a con artist.  At that point, Arizona got angry.

“Shut up, Derek.  She’s very nice and she isn’t harming anyone.  If you can’t see that by now, we’re through.”

Arizona grabbed Calliope’s wrist and dragged her out of the bar.

“Where are we going?” Calliope asked.

“I’m going home.  Do you have a place to stay?”

“Yes. There was a lovely pond at the park.  I want to sleep out there with my little frog and animal friends.”

Arizona was not in the mood for games.

“You can stay with me tonight.”

First thing Arizona did was stop at the liquor store to buy a bottle of wine to share with Calliope, since she seemed to enjoy the bar so much.  As they were walking around the store, Calliope found what she wanted.  She ran to the cashier.

“Do you have those smoke sticks?”

“What?” the cashier asked.

“The smoke sticks.”  Calliope repeated.  “The things you set on fire and can put in your mouth to blow out smoke.”

“Oh, you mean cigarettes?”

“I guess so,” Calliope responded.   “I’ll take a pack.”

The cashier handed a pack of cigarettes to Calliope.  Arizona went up to the register to pay for her things.  She noticed what Calliope was buying.

“Eww! You don’t want those.  They are disgusting.”

“Yes I do,” Calliope said.  “I think you’ll like them too.”

Arizona reluctantly bought Calliope her cigarettes.  They went back to her place where they drank and smoked.  The two had a wonderful time, until it was time to sleep.  Arizona had the intentions that Calliope would sleep on the couch, but she had better ideas.  Arizona couldn’t help herself anymore.  She though Calliope was stunning and she wanted to sleep with her.  She went over to Calliope and kissed her on the lips. Surprisingly, Calliope did not resist.  She kissed Arizona back.

“I’ve been wanting to do this since we started hanging out earlier,” Arizona said, mid kiss.

“You’re not so bad either,” Calliope answered back.

They went into the bedroom and Arizona started unzipping Calliope’s dress.  Soon, she was naked and pulled off Arizona’s dress.  The two got in bed.  There was no sex for their first encounter, but they had a great time feeling each other up.

In the morning, Arizona woke up before Calliope.  She almost forgot about the night before until she saw the two of them lying naked in her bed.  The only thing covering her was a sheet over her butt and her long black hair splayed over her back and shoulders.  Looking at her lying there made Arizona know that the night before was not a mistake.  She knew she had to break up with Derek, but she didn’t know how she was going to tell him.

However, he was going to find out right away.  Derek walked into the bedroom to greet Arizona and to apologize to her.  He had a key to her place, so he dropped in unexpectedly.

“What the hell?” he yelled as he saw Arizona sitting in bed naked with Calliope.  He stormed out of the room, with Arizona pulling on a shirt and running after him.

“Please Derek, I can explain,” Arizona cried.

“Oh sure, we have one fight about some crazy chick you befriend, and now you end up in bed with that crazy chick.”

“She’s not crazy,” Arizona yelled.  “I don’t know much about her, but she is a lot better than you are right now.  I’ve actually been questioning our relationship lately.  I think I’m starting to understand why.”

“Because you’re a lesbian?”

“No! I mean, I don’t know.  But, Calliope gave me the night of my life, which you have failed to do recently.”

“Good, you can have many more nights with her now.”

Just then, Calliope walked in on Derek and Arizona’s fight.  She had changed back into her dirty red dress, but kept the shoes that Arizona bought her.  She looked really upset.

“Look, I don’t want to come between you two,” she said.  “I’ll just go back to my kingdom and leave you two alone.”

Calliope walked out of the apartment, and ran as soon as she was out of the presence of Arizona and Derek.  Tears were streaming down her face.  She ran all the way to the park where she met Arizona.  She ran deep into the trees and sat down on the ground and cried.  She did like Arizona, but she didn’t want to hurt Derek, and she knew she couldn’t go home because she would get locked up for running away.  She had to make a decision.

Soon after Calliope left, Derek left as well.  Arizona had nothing to do but get ready for her shift at the hospital.  First, she went to the park to see if Calliope had run there.  She did not see her there, and had no time to keep searching.  She went to the hospital bummed out.  She could not stop thinking about Calliope.  Arizona was worried that something bad would happen to her.  She also kept thinking about the night before and how much she loved being in the arms of the princess.  Before she could think anymore, Derek approached her.

“So, where do we stand?” he asked.

Arizona was drained.  “Can we not do this now?” she pleaded.  “Calliope is probably lost and something bad will happen to her.”

Derek saw how upset Arizona was about Calliope.  He had the feeling from this reaction they were through, but he didn’t want to see his girlfriend, whether she was former or not this upset.

“I’ll cancel my surgeries for today,” he said.  I’ll help you look for her.”

Arizona smiled and thanked Derek.  Quickly, they met outside.

“She really liked the park,” Arizona said.  “I started looking for her there, but I didn’t get too far.”

Arizona and Derek went searching the park.  Back in the wooded area, Calliope was still sitting and crying.  She knew disobeying her parents was bad, but now she was in a strange world she did not know and had to learn for herself without the friend she made.  She debated looking for the wall to climb over again, but it was hard work.  Finally, when she gave up hope, someone she knew came up to her.

“Calliope? What are you doing here?”

It was her brother, Jonathan.  He was on his own adventure and was coming home.  Calliope was happy to see him, and just sank into his arms and cried.  She told him of Arizona and Derek.  She admitted to having feelings for Arizona, although she was a female.  Jonathan just sat with her and smiled.

“Come on, sister.  Let’s just go home.”

“I can’t,” Calliope said.  “I need to find Arizona.”

Jonathan was understanding and took Calliope by the hand to help her find her friend.  They were walking towards the hospital, when they ran into Arizona and Derek.

“Calliope!” Arizona screamed.  “I’m glad I found you.  And you are okay.”

Calliope just smiled.  “This is my brother, Jonathan, I told you about,” she said introducing the man with her.

Arizona just smiled.  “I need to talk to you,” she said.

She pulled Calliope to the side and spoke.

“Look, last night really meant something to me.  I really like you and want to continue to see you.  Derek and I are through, but I’ve known it for weeks now.  You were not the cause of our breakup.  Actually, you helped me put perspective on why I had no more feelings for Derek.”

“I really like you too,” Calliope said.  “Come back with me to my kingdom.”

Arizona was a little skeptical about Calliope’s intentions, so she brought Derek with her.  The four walked way in the back of the park, far in the woods.  Derek doubted the sanity of the other three at that point, until they got to the kingdom wall.  There was a gate, and they all passed through.  In the clearing were a castle and a unicorn running around.  It was one of the prettiest places Arizona had ever seen.  They walked to the castle, where they met the king and queen.  While they were upset, they got to understand Calliope’s feelings.

“Okay, you don’t have to keep dating Gavin or Jordan,” the King said.

“Thank you,” Calliope said.  “But, I have to tell you something.  This wonderful blonde, Arizona, she’s my girlfriend now.  I met her out in the other world, and I really love her.”

“Are you sure?” the Queen asked.  “This isn’t a typical relationship, but I think we can accept it.”

Calliope was happy, as was Arizona.  Calliope gave her new girlfriend a kiss on the cheek.  After a few months of traveling between worlds, Calliope and Arizona were married in the kingdom.  Both wore beautiful white dresses.  Calliope wore her best tiara.  After the wedding, Arizona brought Calliope back to her apartment for their first week together.  Then they packed up Arizona’s apartment and moved into the kingdom.  They lived happily ever after.

The End.

Title: Wedding Night
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Mark
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Callie and Mark’s wedding night.
Disclaimer: All characters and other material I did not create, belong to their rightful owners and no profit is made.

Evening fell, as Callie and Mark left their wedding reception.  They had planned to spend a few days in a Seattle area hotel because Callie was too pregnant to travel.  They planned to go on a real honeymoon, after the baby was born.  However, before the newlyweds could spend their first night together, there was some business to take care of.

Mark’s parents came to the wedding.  They were never a huge part of his life.  Mark was happy they came, until they approached him at the reception.  “Did you marry her because you got her pregnant?”  his father asked.  Mark knew that was not true, although the baby had coincidentally been conceived the night they got engaged.  The Sloan’s came because Callie invited them.  Mark told her not to, but she insisted they would come if they got an invitation.  However, despite Callie’s generosity, they did not speak to her once.  As Mark was talking to his parents, he looked at Callie across the room.  She was glowing, as she dealt with her own family.  She may have been practically nine months pregnant, but she was in high spirits.  Mark turned back to his parents.  “Can we discuss this later?  Like in a few days?” he begged.  His father would not budge.  “We’ll discuss this today or never.”  Mark reluctantly agreed.  “Fine, we’ll go somewhere later.  And please, don’t bring Callie into this.”

They headed over to Joe’s.  It was a public place and a good place for Callie to meet up with friends, while Mark spoke to his parents.  Callie did not like the detour, but she understood.  “I need to grab some clothes to change into,” she said.  “I am not sitting there in my wedding dress.”  Mark helped Callie gather her stuff up and they walked inside.  It was dead.  Meredith, Derek, and Addison were there already.  Mark’s parents were sitting at a table near the door.  “Hi,” Callie said politely.  “I hope you enjoyed yourself.  I’m so glad that you came out here from New York.”  Mark’s parents stared at her with a cold look in their eyes, and she walked to the bathroom, unsure of what to think about the encounter.

“You couldn’t just be nice when she spoke to you.  She has been nothing but nice, and she invited you to the wedding, not me,” Mark said, sounding a little angry.  “She’s not Vanessa,” Mark’s mother said.  Mark groaned and said, “We have not dated since college.  And I broke up with her because she cheated on me and got pregnant with my roommate’s baby.”  “Well, Calliope is a bit out of your league.  She probably got pregnant so you would stay,” Mark’s father said.  Mark could not believe this.  “Get out,” he said.  “Leave. It’s not like our marriage would bring us closer together.  Callie is important to me and so is our child.  Too bad if we aren’t good enough for you.”  Mark’s parents were mad.  Callie noticed them leaving, and they shot her a disgusted look on the way out.
“They hate me,” she said to Addison, as they sat over drinks.  “At least they know about you and have a clean record,” Addison said.  Callie looked at Mark and knew he was crushed.  He walked to the bar to get another drink.  Callie decided to go over there to comfort him.  “Leave me alone,” he said as he sank down at a table.  Callie looked hurt and walked as fast as her pregnant body would let her to the bathroom in tears.  Meredith and Addison followed her.  Derek went over to talk to Mark.

“What happened?” Derek asked casually.  “They brought up Vanessa again,” Mark said, after taking a gulp of his drink.  Derek started laughing because he knew their history.  “Twenty years, and they are still hung up on her?”  “They are friends with her parents.  But yeah, they love her.  Although, I’m not sure why.”  Mark’s phone rang.  It was his parents.  He ignored it.  “I love Callie,” he said.  “I’m happy we are married and have a baby on the way. I guess that’s why I couldn’t stand them being rude to her.  But I was just rude to her. She will probably not forgive me.”  Derek looked at him and said, “You need to tell Callie the truth.”

As Mark and Derek sat talking, the ladies were doing the same thing in the bathroom.  “Why do they hate me?” she asked, as she paced.  “I’ve been polite and nice.  I invited them to the wedding. What more do they want?”  “Callie,” Addison interrupted.  “Relax, or you are going to stress yourself into premature labor, right here.”  Callie stopped and looked at both Addison and Meredith.  “Be honest.  Did Mark only marry me because I’m pregnant?”  Addison gave her a look.  “No, he wanted you before that.  He wanted to for a long time.  He just didn’t know how to ask you.  And we did figure out the baby was conceived after you were engaged, even though it was only hours after.”  “He also did show Derek and I the ring a couple of weeks before he finally asked you,” Meredith chimed in.  “Then why did he tell me to leave him alone?” Callie asked.  Addison took a deep breath.  “You have to know Mark’s parents.  This was the first time they have visited in a long time.  They are high-class society people.  They might not think you are good enough.”  Callie understood a little.  “I need to talk to Mark right now.  Before our little getaway is ruined.”

Callie walked out of the bathroom and sort of expected Mark to have left her.  But, he was still sitting at the table with Derek.  He took one look at her and realized what an idiot he had been.  He was sure Callie in all her grace would not want to take him back.  He looked at her pregnant form and said, “I’m sorry.”  Callie gave him a hug.  “There is something I need to tell you about my parents.”  Callie sat down waiting for the story and Derek walked away to join the other ladies again.

“I’m sorry I never told you anything about this sooner, but I never thought it would matter,” Mark said.  “My first and only serious girlfriend before you was in college.  Her name was Vanessa.  We met during our sophomore year of undergraduate school, and we were together until September of our senior year.  Our parents were friends.  Her parents are filthy rich and only care about money.”  “But, my family has money too,” Callie interrupted.  “But, you don’t care about it.  Well, there was a reason I broke up with Vanessa.  My roommate, Todd, was a friend with both of us.  Vanessa had a party up at one of her parent’s houses in the Hamptons, during the summer before senior year.  I almost broke up with her there because I saw her kiss Todd.  It wasn’t until September when I dumped her for good because she announced she was pregnant, and it was Todd’s.”  Callie gave Mark a sympathetic look.  “I’m sorry,” she said.  Mark kissed her and said, “Don’t be.  For some reason after twenty years, my parents still think we were meant to be.”  “So, because I’m not a skanky slut, your parents dislike me?”  Mark laughed and said, “No.  They did ask me if I only married you because you were pregnant which I hope you know is not true.”  Callie looked down at the huge bulge, which used to be her flat stomach, and smiled.

“Did you tell her what happened with Vanessa and Todd?”  Addison said laughing, as she and Derek walked over.  “It’s not important,” Mark said, hoping to drop the subject.  “Says the guy who lived in my dorm room on the floor for the rest of the school year,” said Derek.  “I’ll tell,” said Addison.  “Vanessa dropped out of college, one semester shy of graduation.  Todd did marry her, and now they are miserable.  Todd is a worse man whore than Mark turned out to be, before he settled down with you, Callie.  They are still married.  Their love child is twenty now and a stripper.  Vanessa is also a stay at home mom with four other kids now.  All belonging to Todd.”  All four of them started laughing about this.  “Promise me we will not end up like that,” Callie said.  Mark kissed her again.  “We’re already better than that.”  In the laughter, Mark’s parents returned.

“We came back to apologize,” said Mr. Sloan.  “We were quick to judge the intentions of your marriage and Calliope.”  Mark was not sure whether to believe them or not.  “Can I talk to you away from everyone for a moment?” he asked.  He pulled them away from the group.  “Why the sudden change in heart?”  “It’s your life,” his mother said.  “We also did not realize Calliope came from a wealthy family and she was a doctor.”  Mark looked angry.  “What does that matter?”  His father said, “Well, we thought she was your maid or someone like that.  Thank goodness she is better than that.”  “But you aren’t!” Mark yelled.  At that point he walked away from them to be with Callie.  His parents left once again, without saying a word.  When Callie’s eyes met Mark, she gave him a hug.  “Lets just go to the hotel now,” he said.  Mark grabbed Callie’s things and the couple said goodbye to their friends as they headed to the limousine.

Twenty minutes later, they arrived at their hotel and checked in.  Mark reserved the honeymoon suite, which overlooked Seattle.  Callie looked out the window and then got settled on the bed.  “Aren’t we supposed to be having sex?  It is our wedding night.”  Mark looked at her and said, “Sure, if you weren’t pregnant.”  “But I saw on “Friends” once that sex was suggested to get the baby to come,” Callie argued.  “Do you want to forget this trip and have the baby instead?”  Callie knew she wanted more time, so she agreed to no sex.  “I look too gross for sex for sex anyway,” she said.  Mark slid in next to her and said, “No you don’t.”  He kissed her and they kissed a little more.  A little while later Mark got up to order some strawberry ice cream that Callie wanted.  Callie struggled to her feet from the bed to go to the bathroom.  She felt the baby moving around a lot.  “Be quiet.  I know we’ve had an exciting day, but we need to relax now,” she told her unborn child.  Suddenly, she felt what seemed like she wet her pants, but knew it wasn’t.  She looked on the floor, since she was wearing a skirt and knew what just happened.  She got Mark’s attention and he looked nervous.  He called for a cab and they went off to the hospital.

“When was the last time you had a contraction?” Mark asked Callie.  “I think a few minutes ago,” she said, as they left the parking lot.  “It’s okay, we’ll be at the hospital in about half an hour.  Everything will be fine,” Mark said, rubbing Callie’s back.

Ten minutes down the road, the taxi ran into a traffic jam.  No vehicles were moving and they were piling up bumper to bumper in three lanes.  “We should get moving again soon,” Mark said reassuringly.  A few minutes later, the cab driver got word of what was happening.  “Bad news,” he said.  “There is an accident on the bridge.  Both sides are closed.  It could be a couple of hours at least.”  “We probably don’t have a couple of hours!” Callie yelled in pain.  Mark rubbed her back some more.  “Sir, my wife is in labor, so we really need to get to the hospital,” Mark said calmly.  “I’ll call for help, but it could take a long time for some paramedics to get here,” the cab driver replied.  Mark was getting nervous.  He knew what to do if he had to, but he did not want to deliver the baby himself in the taxi in traffic.  Callie had another contraction and squeezed Mark’s hand tightly.  “Can we just drive on the shoulder to get there quicker? Or can Addison drive on it to get to me?”  “Sorry babe, that’s not happening.  There is no place to go, plus we’d get arrested for not being an emergency vehicle.”  “So I’m going to have this baby in a taxi?” Callie asked in a whiny way.  “I don’t know,” Mark answered.

About 15 minutes later, there was word that an ambulance was on its way.  But, would it be too late?  Callie told Mark that she probably was having labor pains all day, but ignored them because of the excitement.  At that thought, Mark started pulling stuff out of Callie’s suitcase that he thought would be helpful.  He stuck the bag behind Callie’s back so she could lie across the seat easier.  He then covered Callie’s lower half with a towel.  “What are you doing?” she screamed.  “I’m not having this baby in here.  I don’t want people to watch us,” she said, glaring at the cab driver.  “Hey, be nice.  I have you covered up.  So, don’t worry,” Mark said.  He checked how far along Callie was, and did not like what he saw.  “Bad news, Cal.  We are going to deliver this baby right here.”  Callie groaned.  Mark looked her in the eye and reassured that it would be okay.

A few minutes later, Mark got a first aid kit from the cab driver.  He got out of the taxi to give some privacy and to flag down the ambulance when it came.  “I need something to hold onto, since I can’t hold your hand,” Callie pouted.  Mark looked through their stuff.  “Will this pencil do?” he asked, jokingly.  “Yeah, that will be perfect.  Then I can stab you with it if this delivery goes wrong.”  “Yeah, that was a bad idea,” Mark said, throwing it out of the way.  “Oh, never mind,” Callie said.  “Lets just get this over with so we can make the news tomorrow.”  Mark looked at Callie once more and told her to relax.  Mark got into position and told Callie to push.  She was still nervous, but did so.  A few minutes later, the baby was out.  “We have a daughter,” Mark said smiling.  He wrapped the tiny girl in a towel and handed her to Callie.  Despite the pain and how tired and sweaty she was, Callie looked at her daughter and smiled.  She realized the hell they went through was worth it for this.  Soon after, an ambulance came up the shoulder of the road.  The paramedics got Callie and the baby and took them to the hospital.

At the hospital, Callie and the baby were examined.  Both were fine, although the baby was a week and a half early.  Visitors kept coming in to see them.  However, Mark’s parents did not, although he did call them to let them know of their granddaughter.  Neither Callie nor Mark was disappointed.  “Well, this has been a wedding day to remember,” Callie said, holding the baby.  “We need a name for this little girl.”  “I’m taking care of that,” Mark said.  “We made lists, but never discussed them.  I guess we got too caught up in wedding plans.”  He pulled them out and he sat at the edge of Callie’s bed.  The two compared opinions.  “No Vanessa,” Callie said, laughing a little bit.  Mark did not laugh.  Instead he was concentrating on the lists.  “We both have Bridget on our lists.  How about that?” Callie suggested.  “I like that,” agreed Mark.  He thought for a moment.  “Do you like Autumn for a middle name?  The season she got conceived?”  Callie thought out loud.  “Bridget Autumn Torres-Sloan.  Yeah, I like that.”

The next day, Callie and the baby were released from the hospital.  Mark picked them up and drove them to their apartment.  Mark had stayed up half the night with Derek and Addison setting up the baby’s room.  When Callie saw the room, she was happy.  She handed Bridget to Mark and went to go take a short nap, as she was still tired and in a tiny bit of pain from the birth.  Mark sat down on the couch with Bridget.  Soon, Addison, Derek, Meredith, and Cristina joined Mark.  He held Bridget and was just happy for the life he was starting with Callie.

Callie’s pager went off.  She noticed it was the pediatrics department.  She was not sure what to expect.  She walked in and found Arizona with a child.

“I need you for a consult,” Arizona said to her.  She handed an x-ray to Callie and she looked at it.

“It’s broken,” Callie said, talking about the kid’s leg.  “I’ll set it and put a cast on it.”

“There is something you should know, Calliope,” Arizona said.  “Lauren has the chicken pox.  You’ve had it before, right?”

Callie looked at Arizona like she was crazy.  “Of course I did.  I caught them when I was four.”

“So there is no problem working then?”

“Definitely not,” Callie reassured her.

About a week later, Callie and Arizona were both on call all night.  They finally got a moment together in an on call room.  They lay next to each other on a bed.

“I think I’m coming down with something,” Callie said.

“It’s probably just a cold or allergies,” Arizona answered.  “I’ve been feeling similarly.  Whatever it is, we probably gave it to each other.”

The two soon fell asleep and were woken a few hours later.

Callie got up and felt worse than she did when she went to sleep.  She also could not stop scratching her left wrist and stomach.  Arizona was up too and Callie noticed something on her face.

“You look like you have a rash,” she said.

“Great,” Arizona groaned.  “This is what I don’t like about working with children.”

Soon, both of their pagers went off.  They forgot about their problems and ran to the pit.  Once down there, Callie and Arizona found Mark.

“What is wrong with you two?” he asked.

“What are you talking about?” Callie asked.  “You are the one who paged us to come down here.”

“Not that. You both look like you have some sort of rash on your faces, and you look sick.”

“It’s probably just a cold or something,” Arizona said.  “The kids always are passing around germs.”

“Yeah, and I can blame this hospital for a bug infestation. I have a couple of bites on my wrist,” Callie said, holding her wrist out for Mark to see.

Mark looked at Callie’s wrist and then at Arizona again.

“You two, follow me to an examination room right now” he said.

When they got into the examination room, Mark pulled up Callie’s top to look at her stomach.  He found more of the rash there.

He finally spoke.  “I’m not one hundred percent sure, but I think you two picked up the chicken pox.”

“That’s impossible,” Callie argued. “I had them when I was four.”

“Well, it is possible to get them again,” Arizona said.  “We were working with that kid last week.”

“I’m going to go find someone to examine you two,” Mark said.  “I’m closing the door and you need to stay here because you’re probably contagious.”

Mark left the room and Callie looked at her stomach, like Mark had.  She could not believe all the spots that itched like crazy.  She then went to find something to see the reflection of her face, but gave up because it itched so badly.

“This is fun,” Arizona said.

“Oh yeah, sitting here itching like crazy is fun,” Callie replied.  “I wish we just had a cold.”

“We can itch together,” Arizona said, trying to sound cheerful.

“Can you scratch my back?” Callie asked.

“Are you crazy? We’ll end up with scars from that.”
“But it just itches so badly,” Callie pleaded.  “We’re alone.  We don’t have to let anyone know.”

She walked over to Arizona, trying to seduce her a tiny bit.  Callie scratched her back a little, hoping Arizona would give in.  She kissed Arizona on the cheek, but she pulled away.

“Calliope, we can’t do this. We’re sick.”

“And right you are about the last part,” Callie said, leaning in even closer. She scratched Arizona once more, and Arizona gave in.  They scratched and rubbed each other, until the door opened.

Dr. Bailey walked in with Meredith.  “Eww! You two are nasty. Your sick and your still trying to get it on.”

Callie got away from Arizona, but smiled a little at her.  Bailey and Meredith examined both of them.

“It’s true,” Bailey said.  “You two did pick up the chicken pox.”

“So, this is my second exposure to it?” Callie asked.

“Your medical records don’t show that you had them, and Arizona, you only had them mildly.”

“But, that’s impossible,” said Callie.  “I am certain I got them when I was four.”

“That was the measles.”  Meredith said.  “So, this is the first time for chicken pox.”

Callie groaned.  “So now what?” she asked.

“Well, you’ll just have to stay home until it’s all over with.  Probably about ten days or so,” Bailey explained.

Just then, Mark came in the room again.

“We have more cases of chicken pox coming in.  Both staff and patients.”

“Uh, okay.  You two stay in here,” Bailey said to Callie and Arizona.  “And Meredith, wrap up their hands so they can’t scratch at each other.”

Dr. Bailey followed Mark out of the room.  Meredith stayed and wrapped up Callie and Arizona’s hands in gauze.  She then proceeded to tape them up so they could not tear the gauze off.  She soon left.

“Well, this is embarrassing,” Callie said, looking at her hands.

“This is your fault, Calliope,” Arizona said.  “We wouldn’t have our hands like this if you didn’t start scratching me.”

“But, we were working on that kid last week. So, this is definitely your fault,” Callie argued back.

Arizona was going to retort back, but just itched so much that she tried rubbing her body on whatever she could find.  Callie thought it was cute, so she walked over to her.  Soon they were both sitting on the same bed.

“It doesn’t matter whose fault this was,” she said.  “As long as we spend the next week or two recovering together.”

Arizona smiled at Callie and pulled her down on the bed.  Soon, they were trying to rub the itch off of each other.  They locked legs together and kissed.  Since neither felt very well on top of the itching, they soon fell asleep.

About an hour later, Mark came back in the room to wake them up.

“You two can go home now,” he said.

Callie and Arizona got up to leave.  Mark had gathered some of their stuff up from the locker room, so they wouldn’t spread the chicken pox around even further.  They walked out the door.

“So, what are we going to do until we get better besides sleep and itch?” Callie asked.

“We can take a bath together,” said Arizona.

Callie gave her a puzzled look, until Arizona said, “oatmeal.”

Callie smiled and knew the next ten days would be okay.

Title: The Engagement
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Mark

Summary: Callie and Mark’s engagement night.
Disclaimer: All characters and other unoriginal ideas belong to their righful owners and no profit is made.

It was another rainy night in Seattle.  Callie and Mark sat in her bed listening to the water fall onto the rooftop.  The weather outside was nasty, but inside everything was wonderful.  Mark had taken Callie out to dinner.  Halfway through the meal, Callie left the table to go to the restroom.  When she returned, there was a small box on her bread plate.  Mark told her to open it, and inside was a diamond ring.  Callie knew what was coming, so she kissed Mark before he could ask.

Callie kept gazing at the ring in her dark bedroom.  It wasn’t a huge rock, but bigger than the one from George.  Size did not matter though.  Callie was just thrilled the relationship was going further.  “We need to pick a wedding date,” she said, breaking the silence.  “We’ll worry about that later, let’s just enjoy the moment,” Mark replied.  A moment later his pager went off.  Callie’s did not.  “I’m sorry,” he said.  Callie understood.  She understood all to well.  After all, they were both doctors.  Mark gave Callie a quick kiss before leaving.

Now that Callie was alone, she flicked on the light.  She was about to change into her pajamas when her cell phone rang.  It was Addison.  “Did I interrupt anything?” she asked.  Callie answered, “No, Mark just left for the hospital.  We were just sitting here.”  Caught a little off guard, Addison asked, “Oh, do you want to go to Joe’s with me?”  Callie agreed.  “I have exciting new too,” she excitedly said before getting off the phone.  She got ready and met Addison at the bar.

The rain was still coming down hard, but Callie stood under the overhang to protect herself from the wetness.  She kept her hands inside her pockets incase anyone she knew walked by.  She wanted to break the news first, without anyone seeing the ring first.  Finally Addison came along.  “What is this news you sounded so excited about over the phone?” she asked.  Callie held up her left hand, with a huge smile on her face.  It almost did not click, but Addison finally figured it out.  “You and Mark? Congratulations. Let me buy you a drink.”  They walked in and people they knew kept walking up to Callie and congratulating her.  She didn’t know how everyone knew, since it just happened a couple of hours before.  Callie finally saw her roommate Cristina with Meredith and Lexie.  She pulled Callie’s hand out of her pocket to see if it was true.  Addison bought Callie a drink, and suddenly everyone who knew her and found out was buying her drinks.

After a few too many, Callie was extremely drunk.  She stopped caring about how people knew of her and Mark’s engagement.  The music was right and Callie had a great time.  “I love my fiancé,” Callie was telling Derek.  “But, I could like you too and your friend,” she said, talking about Owen.  “It’s okay Callie,” he said.  Then randomly, “It’s Raining Men” by the Weather Girls came on the juke box and Callie got very excited.  “This is mine and Mark’s song,” she said, screaming.  She grabbed Derek, Owen, and Meredith and started dancing with all three of them.  After the dance, she kissed each one, and drank some more.

Just then, her cell phone rang.  Without even checking, she got on it and yelled, “Hey babe!” to the person on the other end.  Fortunately, it was Mark.  “Where are you?” he asked.  Callie started laughing hysterically and said, “I’m out and all my people are here.  I think some guy named Darrin tried picking me up, but I told him off.  And now he’s kissing Meredith.  And I got lots of drinks.”  Addison, noticing Callie’s conversation, grabbed the phone away from Callie and got on it herself, walking towards the bathroom.

“Mark, is that you?” she asked.  “Yeah,” he said.  “Is Callie drunk?  I could not comprehend one thing she just said.”  “Unfortunately, yes,” Addison said.  “I’m assuming you told people about your engagement? Well, they all started buying her drinks, and she drank, and keeps drinking them all.  I’m sorry.”  Mark was reasonable.  “Don’t let her drink anymore.  I’ll be there in about an hour.”  Addison got off the phone and was about to tell Callie the news, when she could not believe what was happening.

Callie had jumped up on the table and was drunkenly singing and dancing to “Dirty” by Christina Aguilera.  Addison thought it was obnoxious, but fun.  That was until Callie started stripping off her jacket and pulled her pants down a little to show her red, lacy panties and fairy tattoo on her hip.  Joe finally motioned to Addison to get Callie out of there.  Callie slid on the table on her knees, knocking over all the glasses and spilling everything on the table.  Derek and Owen grabbed her and dragged her outside.  Addison followed, while trying to call Mark.  There was no answer on his end.

Outside, it was still raining.  Callie was sitting on the sidewalk, while Derek and Owen told her lies on why she could not go back inside.  “You are just too cool for a place like that,” Derek said.  “You were making too many people jealous.  Mark will love that.”  Callie still laughed hysterically.  She saw Addison come, and stood up.  She took her jacket and handed it to Derek.  “Here, Meredith will be cold later.  She can keep it forever.  I don’t need it because I have super warm powers.”  Addison laughed, but sternly said, “We’re going home.”  Callie did not like this news.  “What about Mark?”  She started crying.  “I need to see him now.”  Reluctantly, Addison walked Callie over to the hospital since she could not get a hold of Mark.

Near the entrance, Addison spoke.  “We need to play a game now.  You need to be extra quiet.  Any noise, and you lose.”  “That sounds like fun,” Callie agreed.  They walked inside and Addison quietly walked Callie to the locker room.  She sat her down on the couch, when Mark appeared.  Callie was so excited to see him that she jumped into his arms and kissed him wherever she could.  Mark took a sniff of her and smelled booze, and wrinkled his nose.  He put her down and Addison spoke up.  “Joe told me to escort her out of there.  She was making a scene, dancing on a table and showing off her panties and tattoo.  She gave her jacket to Derek, and all she wanted to do was see you.”  Callie interrupted, “Meredith won’t be cold now.  I’m super warm.  Nothing will stop me.”  She went in to kiss Mark, but ran to grab something out of her locker.  She scrounged through the mess of various items, until a bottle of soda fell and exploded on the floor and all over her shirt.  She also got a little in her long hair.  Callie then collapsed to the floor a little disgusted with the soda in her hair, but laughing.  Mark and Addison grabbed her and dragged her into a bathroom stall. They pulled off her wet shirt, and Addison went in her locker to find something for her to change into.

She returned with a hair tie and Callie’s lab coat.  “I couldn’t find another shirt,” she explained to Mark.  “That will have to do,” he answered.  Callie got impatient and ran away to the couch, topless.  A couple of people walked in and saw that Mark and Addison were taking care of her.  At the couch, Mark grabbed her and put the lab coat on her.  Addison wiped some of the soda out of her hair and cleaned off her face.  “Hey Callie,” she said.  “Remember the game we played on the way in?  Well, we need to play it again until we get outside.”  Callie agreed to the game again.  She let Mark and Addison guide her down to the entrance.  Once they got outside, they let go and Callie bolted down the street.

Mark and Addison ran after Callie until she stopped, did a little dance move, and fell over in a fit of laughter again.  “I can take this from here,” Mark said to Addison.  “No, you can’t go,” Callie said, crying once again.  “Stay over, we can have a pajama party.”  Addison didn’t want to, but she agreed, since it made Callie stop crying.  Mark picked her up off the sidewalk and carried her back to her apartment.

At Callie’s place, Mark put her in bed, taking her wet clothes off of her.  He hoped she would quiet down and go to sleep, but she ran in the kitchen in her underwear.  Callie grabbed a container of ice cream, and more booze.  Before Mark could get it away from her, she chugged a good portion of it.  Then she got three spoons out for the ice cream.  “Eat it,” she said taking her spoon in the container.  Mark and Addison did not eat any.  Instead, they got Callie to drink some coffee and take some Tylenol.  “We should totally have a threesome right now,” she said.  “It would be perfect.”  As she said this, she took her bra off and went over to start ripping Mark’s shirt off of him.  “How about we go to bed instead?” Mark suggested.  “Oh, okay,” Callie reluctantly agreed.  She jumped on Mark and he brought her in the bedroom.  He placed her in bed, but she got up and tackled Addison.  Callie brought her down on the bed and kissed her.  Callie attempted to unbutton Addison’s pants and pull her shirt off, but had no luck.  Instead, Callie gave her a love bite on her chest.  Addison got up off the bed and looked mortified.  Then Callie threw all of the blankets and pillows on the floor.  “Now we can snuggle,” she said proudly.  She got on the floor and lay down.  Addison took some pajamas from Callie’s dresser and slept on the bed.  Mark got down on the floor to keep a watch on Callie.

Addison started to fall asleep, but Callie was still drunk and excited.  “Let’s have sex,” she suggested to Mark.  “No,” he replied.  “You wanted a sleepover, so no sex at the slumber party.”  Callie did not take no for an answer.  She climbed on top of Mark, humping him a little bit.  Soon, she was kissing him and sliding a hand down his pants.  Although Mark knew Callie was drunk, he still was turned on.  “Are you going to get sick, Callie?”  He asked as a decoy to wrap a blanket around Callie and carry her in the bathroom.  He gently placed her on the floor on top of the blanket.  They had the best sex that night.  When they were done, Mark rubbed Callie’s back, hoping she would fall asleep.  There was a knock at the door.  “Can I get in there?”  Cristina yelled from the hallway.  She came home a little while before that.  “Give us a minute, Callie is sick,” Mark lied.  “Oh, that doesn’t surprise me.  Have fun in there,” Cristina yelled before going to her bedroom.  Mark picked Callie and the blanket off the floor and carried her into the bedroom, where they spent the night sleeping on the floor.

In the morning, Callie felt like death.  She regretted drinking so much the night before.  She was cold too and didn’t know why.  Finally, she sad up and realized she was on the floor with Mark, in just a pair of panties, with Addison on her bed.  She got up to put her bathrobe on, wanting to just lie down again.  Mark woke up shortly after.  “How do you feel?”  he asked.  Callie groaned.  “Like death,” she answered.  “Good, you should.”  “What happened last night?” Callie asked.  Mark laughed.  “Addison can tell you the details better.”  Callie wrinkled her face.  “What do you mean?” she asked.  “You were wasted! You kissed Derek, Owen, and Meredith.  You showed everyone at Joe’s your panties, and I must say you have a really cute tattoo on your hip,” Addison blurted out.  Callie turned beet red.  I guess I invited you to spend the night too?”  “Yes” Mark continued.  “You were practically naked in the kitchen, wanting a threesome, and you wanted to get busy with Addison.”  “You gave me a hickey,” Addison chimed in.  “And, I had sex with Mark on the bathroom floor,” Callie remembered.  “Thanks for sharing,” Addison said, disgusted a bit.  Callie was mortified about the night before.  She was happy to call herself Mark’s fiancé, but that was it.  Callie felt like crap, so she lay down next to Addison in her bed, and hoped to forget the whole night before.

Nine months later, Callie and Mark were married.  The ceremony was small, but lovely.  Addison forgave Callie for giving her the hickey, and served as he maid of honor.  They got into the limousine and ode off to the reception.  The day was exciting, but not the end of it all.  Mark put his hand on Callie’s now expanded belly, hoping to feel the baby moved around.  They both smiled and knew their journey was just beginning.

“Get dressed,” Mark said to Callie.

Callie woke up from taking a nap and thought he was crazy.

“Why?” she asked.  “I’m on bed rest.  I’m not supposed to be doing anything crazy.”

Mark flipped the sheets and blankets off of Callie and her expanded belly.  She was five weeks away from delivering triplets.

“Just trust me,” he said.

Callie was not exhausted anymore because all she did was sit in bed and around the apartment for three days already.  She held her hand out to Mark for help getting out of bed.  She waddled over to the closet and had no idea what she was doing.

“Can’t I just wear my sweats or pajamas?” she whined.

“No,” Mark said.  “Hurry up.  Derek will be here soon.”

Callie was confused, but she picked out a black shirtdress and a pair of black leggings.  She struggled to put them on, so Mark helped her.

“It is okay for me to be out of bed, right?” Callie questioned Mark’s motives.

“Oh yeah, I called Addison and asked her,” he lied.

Soon, Derek was at the door, and the two men led and helped Callie out to Derek’s car.

Half an hour went by, and nothing was happening.  Derek had been driving forever, and Callie felt like he wasn’t going anywhere.

“Where are we going?” she asked.

“Somewhere,” Mark answered laughing.

“Just tell me,” Callie pleaded.  “It’s not nice to tease the pregnant lady.  Or are you trying to get me to go into labor?”

Mark whispered something in Derek’s ear, which made him laugh.  He soon pulled into the parking lot of a supermarket. Callie looked at the place and groaned.

“This is what you call a surprise?” she whined.  “Why are we here?”

“You’ll find out,” Derek said laughing some more.

He parked the car.  Out of the back, he pulled out a wheel chair and made Callie sit in it.

“What the hell?” Callie yelled.  “Did you steal this from the hospital?”

“Yes,” Mark answered.  “We did it so you could join us on this excursion.”

Callie finally agreed, although she thought it was nuts.  Then, Mark put a shopping basket in her lap, while he and Derek grabbed two shopping carts each.

“Seriously, what are you two up to?” she asked.

Neither Mark nor Derek answered her, so she followed them through the store to the baby supply aisle.  There, Mark and Derek started stuffing their carts and Callie’s basket with packs of diapers.  Callie thought they were just going shopping for other things, until she noticed they were just picking up diapers.

“Are you two crazy?” she asked again.

“No,” Derek answered.  “We have this bet going on how many packs of diapers will fit in the back of my truck.  You guys are going to use them all in a week anyway, probably.”

‘This is nuts,” Callie responded.  “Are you two for real?”

Once Mark and Derek could not fit anymore in their carts, Callie grabbed a set of bibs that she liked, and they went to the check out.  Back at the car, Mark and Derek loaded all the diapers into the car and drove off.  Soon, they were at Wal-Mart.

“Are we buying more diapers here?” Callie asked, a little annoyed.

“Of course,” Mark answered.  “You can never have too many diapers.”

“And just where are we going to store all of them?” Callie asked.

“In my trailer,” Derek responded.

“Seriously, I know you two are excited, but I’m just going to wait in the car,” said Callie. “This is beyond belief.”

Derek and Mark ran into Wal-Mart, and Callie was a little upset.  She called up Meredith first, since they were with Derek.  There was no answer.  Then, she called Addison.

“Addison, I’m in the car in a Wal-Mart parking lot.  Mark and Derek dragged me here.  Is that okay, and can you come pick me up?”

“What are they doing?”  Addison asked.

“They have lost their minds,” said Callie.  “They keep filling up shopping carts with diapers, saying they have a bet going on.  I went in the first store, but now I just want to go home.”

“I’m sorry,” Addison said.  “I would love to, but I’m busy.  I’m sure you’ll be fine, as long as you didn’t stand up too long.”

Callie hung up and saw Derek and Mark coming back.  They had picked up a couple more items besides the diapers.

“Can we just go home now?” Callie pleaded.

Mark and Derek looked at one another.

“Fine,” Mark said.  “If we run out of diapers, you’re changing all of them.”

Derek pulled out of the parking lot and went straight back to the apartment building.  Mark helped Callie out of the car and walked her upstairs.  Derek followed.  Soon they were at the door.  Mark unlocked the door and it was dark.  He turned on the light, when all of Callie’s friends jumped out and yelled surprise.  They came in to set up a baby shower for her.

“I’m going to kill you,” Callie said to Mark, but smiling.

“It was the only way we could get you out of the house,” he said.

“And the diaper shopping,” Derek added.  “It was the only thing we could come up with at the last second.  I was just supposed to drive you around to nowhere for an hour, but you got suspicious.”

“Well, thank you for that,” Callie said.

She walked in to greet everyone.  The shower was a success and everyone had fun.

Title: Fun in Bed
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Arizona
Rating: PG
Summary: Callie rotates the mattress.
Disclaimer: All characters belong to their rightful owners and no profit is made either.

A/N: This silly little story was inspired from my bright idea today of doing the same thing as the summary says. I’ll just say that the bed always wins.

It was morning.  Callie woke up to the sun peeking through the blinds.  She was exhausted from working late into the night that she did not wake up when Arizona got up.  She checked the clock to see the time, and could not believe it was already 9 a.m.  Arizona had left 3 hours before and Callie did not have a chance to kiss her good bye.  She also worried a little about being in her girlfriend’s place, while she was gone.

Callie got out of bed and walked to the kitchen.  To her surprise, Arizona left the coffee maker out and a little note.  The note read,

“Good morning sleepy head! I left the coffee maker out for you and breakfast is in the refrigerator.  Help yourself.  Do whatever you need to do.  And I hope you are still around when I get home around noon.”

Love, Arizona

Callie smiled and did as Arizona’s note said.  She made sure to clean up the kitchen when she was done.  She took a long hot shower, and ran back into the bedroom in her towel.  She searched through the dresser to find clothing she left there, just incase she ever spent the night.  She found a pair of sweats and got dressed.  She decided to lie down on the bed again to watch some trashy daytime television.  However, there was something wrong.

The bed did not feel right.  Callie got up to look at it.  She figured the mattress was wearing unevenly, so she decided to flip the mattress.  What she thought would be an easy task, was not at all.  Callie pulled the blankets and sheets off the bed, thinking she would just have to flip the mattress over.  Instead, she discovered it was a pillow top mattress.

“Shit,” she thought to herself.  Callie grabbed one corner of the mattress and pulled it to rotate the side to the lower half of the bed.  This task was difficult because the mattress was heavy and a king size.  Callie struggled with pushing and pulling it 90 degrees.  She finally got it almost turned, when the mattress could no longer be turned because the footboard would not allow it. “This is just perfect,” Callie thought.  “Maybe I should wait until Arizona comes home and can help me.”  Callie decided against waiting for Arizona because she was almost finished. She struggled to push and pull the mattress onto its side on the floor.  “How did she get this bed into this tiny room?” Callie wondered.  Then she noticed another struggle to deal with.

She had thrown the blankets and sheets on the floor on her side.  As she held the mattress up, she slipped on the sheets, which had her fall to her butt on the floor.  And down came the mattress on Callie.  “Damn you!” she screamed.  She was now sitting on the floor against the closet, with the mattress towering over her head.  She tried to stand up, but slipped on the sheets again and came down with a thud.  Callie sat laughing a little bit.

Just then, Arizona came home.  “Calliope?” she asked.  “Are you here?”  Callie heard Arizona’s voice and yelled out, “I’m in the bedroom.”  Arizona heard, but wondered what Callie was doing, because her voice seemed to be muffled a little.  To her surprised, she saw the mattress leaning against the closet, with her girlfriend sitting under it.  “Oh my god, Calliope! Are you okay?” she asked.  “Get me out of here,” said Callie.  Arizona pulled the mattress up enough for Callie to stand up.  Together, they pushed the mattress back on the bed.  Callie threw everything else back on the bed to get it off the floor.

“And why did I come home to find you playing with my mattress?” Arizona asked.  “I tried to flip the mattress over because it felt uneven.  Then I found that I had to rotate it 90 degrees instead.  Then I got it leaned up to push it straight on the bed frame, when I slipped and fell.  The mattress obviously won,” Callie said, a little amused. “Well, next time you feel the need to do that, wait until I can help you,” Arizona said laughing.  “What do you want to do now?  I just need to go back at 4 to check on a couple of patients.”  “Lets just lounge around and watch some soap operas,” Callie responded.  The two plopped down on the bed, and so they did.

Title: Emergency
Author: mak62184
Rating: PG
Pairing: Callie/Mark
Summary: Callie gets sick and Mark is busy.

.

A/N: Better late than never.  I meant to post this late afternoon yesterday, but I lost power for 12 hours. FML. Enjoy!

He paged her a few times.  For the past hour and a half Mark had been paging Callie, but got no response.  In fact, he and everyone else in the hospital had not seen her for a few hours.  While everyone else gave up, and assumed she got pulled into a surgery, Mark knew she was not.  He went to look for her because she was needed in the ER.

Things had gotten complicated.  The ER was getting filled up with patients.  There was no huge emergency bringing in people, until the hospital became short staffed.  It was after lunch, and many people came down with food poisoning.  The cafeteria had been closed down, until it was discovered the salad was making everyone sick.  Mark skipped lunch, so he was fine.  He asked everyone he saw if they had seen Callie recently.  Everyone had the same story.  Mark went to check the on call and examination rooms because he knew Callie had to be somewhere.  The task at hands was not going to be easy.

Up on the third floor, Callie was sleeping in an on call room.  She did not stir, until there was a loud and persistent knock on the door.  She was about to get up from the bed, but felt sick.  She felt dizzy, had a horrible stomachache, and knew she was running a fever.  However, she answered the door, pretending nothing was wrong.

It was Cristina on the other side of the door.  She ignored Callie’s sick look and yelled at her.  She explained what was going on and that Callie was needed in the ER.  Callie apologized and said she would help out right away.  Cristina left, and Callie got herself ready rather slowly.  She checked her pager and found about fifty pages that she missed.  Mark also had called cell phone a bunch of times.  As Callie walked into the hallway, she found herself running to the bathroom.

She got to an empty stall and threw up.  She did not know what was wrong with her, but she felt horrible.  She got sick once more when someone asked if she was okay.  It was Meredith.  Callie lied and said she was fine.  She got out of the stall to face Meredith.  Of course, Meredith casually asked her what she had for lunch, because she thought Callie had food poisoning.  Callie reassured her she did not, and was just getting sick for not eating that day.  Although that was true, Callie had a feeling it was not the entire truth.  Meredith then told Callie that Mark was looking for her and went into another stall.

Callie sickly walked over to the sink to wash her hands and to wipe the sweat off of herself.  She took some cool water in her hands to get the bad taste out of her mouth.  She went to fix her raven hair.  She pulled her hair tie out of it and it fell around her shoulders.  Despite how horrible her stomach felt, she knew she had to finish her shift.  Before she could get to finish with her hair, she sank to the floor in pain and passed out.

A minute later, Callie woke up to Mark being at her side on the bathroom floor.  He had been outside the bathroom when Meredith called for help.  He held on to her until Meredith came back with a thermometer and cold compression.  She left again to grab a wheel chair.  Mark stuck the thermometer in Callie’s ear and it read 103.5°.  The he put the cold compression on her forehead to cool her down.  Meredith came back in and Mark lifted Callie into the wheel chair.  She was then rushed to an empty examination room.

Because so many staff was already sick with food poisoning, doctors were filling in wherever they could.  Derek came in, and assumed Callie was sick with the food poisoning as well.  However, she did not eat, so it was not that.  He ordered tests to be run, including a pregnancy test.  Callie got nervous about that and how the news would end up spreading.  However, Mark did not believe she was because she seemed too sick for that.  He stayed with Callie, although he was not allowed to work on her case because he was dating her.

Within the hour, gossip did start about Callie.  Cristina came in and asked her if she was pregnant.  Callie also heard others talking in the hallway.  She felt so horrible that she just answered that she did not know.  Meanwhile, Derek and Meredith came back with news on Callie.  She was not pregnant, but had appendicitis.  However, because Callie waited hours for medical attention, she got rushed into emergency surgery.

Mark followed behind to keep Callie company until she was in surgery, but got paged in the process to go to the ER.  Callie wanted Mark with her, but she understood what he had to do.  He kissed her and ran.  Meredith prepared Callie for surgery, and soon Callie was asleep.

In the ER, were more cases of food poisoning.  Mark worked, although there was not much he could do for anyone.  He kept checking to make sure they were all hydrated.  He released some as soon as family came to pick them up.  Although Mark was busy, he kept thinking about Callie.  He had a feeling she was sick earlier in the day, but believed her when she said she was fine.  Now she was rushed into surgery and he hoped she would be okay.  He could not imagine losing the one he loved.

After working in the ER for a couple of hours, Alex and Cristina came to relieve Mark.  He went to check the OR board to see if Callie was still in surgery.  She was not listed, so he was relieved and nervous at the same time.  What if she died?  He was hoping that was not the case.  Mark longed to see Callie resting peacefully in a room.  He was about to page Derek, when he appeared behind him.  Derek led Mark to the third floor.  They stopped in front of a patient room where Callie was still sleeping.  Meredith was in there as well, checking on Callie’s incision.  Derek told Mark that Callie would be fine, but she came very close to her appendix bursting.  Mark was relieved that she was okay, and thanked Derek for performing the surgery.

Derek and Meredith left the room, leaving Mark alone with Callie.  He sat down next to her bed and watched her sleep.  She looked so gorgeous, despite being sick.  Mark brushed some hair out of Callie’s face and kissed her cheek.  He sat there for the next hour, waiting for Callie to wake up.  Meredith came in once again to check on Callie.  She woke up when Meredith checked her temperature.  Once Callie was alone with Mark, she apologized for ignoring how sick she was.  Mark got on the bed with her and put his arm around her.  He did not need her apology because he knew they would have ended up in the hospital, just as they were.  Callie smiled and showed Mark the incision from her surgery.  She kissed Mark and lay down on his chest.  She closed her eyes to go back to sleep, while Mark rubbed her back. Soon she was fast asleep.  Soon enough, Mark also fell asleep, holding the love of his life.

Title: My Everything
Author: mak62184
Pairing: Callie/Arizona
Rating: PG
Summary: Just a little thing about what Callie wants in her life.
Disclaimer: All characters, songs, and music videos belong to their rightful owners, and I do not make a profit off of this.

A/N: Not sure if I really followed this a a lyrics prompt, but I came up with this based on a song/ music video.  The song is My Everything by 98 Degrees. Yes, I went there, and I'm proud to admit I was a huge fan back in high school. :)

Song Video:
Sorry for no embedding it, but I looked all over youtube for one, but there wasn't anything. Universal is extremely strict about this. So here is the link:

All alone in the world.  Callie felt this way.  Every single person in her life had seemed to disappear.  Mark, her best friend, was busy with his own true love.  George, her first true love, was hanging on for his life.  And Arizona, was complicated.  Callie did love her, but she had to lose her family for this relationship.  The two had argued earlier in the day.  Finally, Callie listened to Arizona, and hoped she would not leave her.  Unfortunately, it seemed to happen anyway.

Callie grabbed Arizona's hand to let her know she wanted her.  The blonde stayed.  She did not speak a word, until finally she had to leave to check on a patient.  That was hours ago.  With all the chaos going on, Callie went to her quiet spot.  The hospital chapel.  She lay down and went into deep thought.

Until Arizona came into her life, Callie did not think she could love again.  Then the argument with her father made her believe she would not be loved again.  But, Arizona made that different.  No matter how many times Callie ran away, Arizona chased her.  Nobody else in her life did so.  Callie was sorry for Arizona, and her brother, who he never spoke of before.  Now, Callie was alone again, with nobody.

Callie thought about the misunderstandings they had, but the good things kept getting in the way.  It finally dawned on Callie that she needed Arizona in her life.  Not just for a relationship but because she helped pick Callie back up.  Callie was also happy most of the time now.  She may not have had her family, but Arizona was the next best thing.

Callie finally sat up and got down and prayed.  She hoped Arizona would talk to her and forgive her.  Callie wanted everything to be okay between them.  She took one deep breath and got up to find Arizona.  She knew Arizona was her everything and she needed her.

I wonder what this one means? LOL! I was at the shelter I do work for, and we got a black and white cat in, and its name ended up being Sara Ramirez. And then I met the real Sara again while sitting in a theater or something. She was sitting in front of me and my sister. She talked to my sister, and touched my hand before she started talking to me. And she was wearing a big poufy wedding dress.

First, I will just say that I have been involved in what I'm venting about a few times, giving it, and receiving it. So, I am not so innocent, but I have learned something from it.

I don't get what the facination with mocking people online.  Do you know these people in real life? Probably not, most of the time. If you don't think what they talk about is interesting, than why take care in being mean about it? I just find it funny how the people being mocked are supposedly the immature ones, but the mockers are right, and they are the funny ones. In all honesty, both sides are not that funny at all.  And that is why I choose not to respond to either side anymore. Heck, even trying to read everything gets tiresome and boring. Even if it is a parody, it's just not funny.  I know, I'm probably alone on this, but I feel like I'm going to scream if I did not get it out of my system.

Title: Skating

Author: mak62184

Pairing: Callie/Arizona

Rating: PG

Summary: Roller-skating in a random place.

Disclaimer: None of the characters belong to me, or situations that come from other sources. No profit is made off of this fiction either.

A/N: Again, I find some craptacular media to write a Callie/Arizona fiction about. This time, the story is based on a couple of scenes from the terrible, but funny 1980 move, Xanadu. Enjoy!

“Where are we going?” Callie asked her girlfriend. “It’s a surprise.” Arizona replied, as she handed over a pair of roller skates to Callie. “We’re going roller skating? Are you crazy?” “Maybe,” the blonde responded smiling. They walked out of Callie’s apartment building to find Derek’s car parked outside. He waved to them.

“Are we going on a double date with Meredith and Derek?” Callie asked. “No, he’s giving us a ride. Now, put on your skates.” Callie gave Arizona a strange look, and said, “But we’re going to a roller rink. We can just put them on there.” “No we can’t,” Arizona insisted. Callie sat on the sidewalk, taking off her shoes and putting the skates on. She then started to carefully skate over to the back door of Derek’s car. Arizona noticed this and stopped her. “We’re ready, Derek,” she said. “Wait!” Callie shouted before Derek started the car. “What’s going on? Aren’t we supposed to get in the car?” Arizona started laughing and said, “No, Calliope. We’re going to hang onto the back bumper and skate.” Reluctantly, Callie agreed to hang onto the back bumper with Arizona and thought, “This will be the last date we ever have.”

As they rode, Callie kept thinking how she and Arizona were going to fall and die, and how Derek was going to be responsible. “Isn’t this fun?” Arizona shouted. “Oh yeah, tons.” “I got Derek to give us a ride since he was coming down this way anyway. You are going to love your surprise.” Finally, Derek stopped the car permanently. “We’re here,” said Arizona. Callie let go of the bumper and looked around. They were in front of an abandoned building, with nothing else of civilization around. Arizona thanked Derek for the ride, and he drove off.

“Where the hell are we?” asked Callie. “This is your surprise, silly,” Arizona said, sounding reassured. “Come with me,” she said. They started skating to the abandoned building, when Arizona stopped. “Take off your skates.” Callie gave her a look as though she thought she was crazy. “Is this some kind of a sick joke?” “No, you have to take the skates off so we can walk and get into the building without falling.” “And we’ll get AIDS or herpes or some disease walking around this building in just our socks,” Callie said. Arizona gave her a reassured look and took Callie by the hand to the back of the building.

They climbed up to a metal deck, where there was a broken door. Arizona led Callie inside, and it was pitch black. Callie was getting really nervous, until Arizona took out a lighter and lit a couple of tiki torchlights. “Alright,” She said. “Now, put on your skates.” Callie put her skates back on, and Arizona turned on some music with a stereo that was there. “Why here?” Callie asked. “It’s quiet, and romantic, and we can be alone,” Arizona replied. “I set this up earlier. I wanted to go skating, but I didn’t want you to think it was lame.” Callie stood up next to her girlfriend and kissed her. “I don’t think this is lame. I think this is one of the best dates I could go on.” Arizona started skating and Callie joined her, holding her around her waist. They skated the night away in the dark room.

Seriously, I gotta lay off whatever I eat or do before I go to sleep.

I didn't write about it, but last week my hamster, Penny, died. I was really sad, but I'm okay now. So, yesterday I went and got a new one. It's a boy, as far as I know. He is black with a few small patches of white on him.  His name is Bart because I think he might be a trouble maker and wild. He literally ran down one of his cage ladders last night in under a second.

What does this have to do with last night's dream? Everything! I drempt that I woke up to find that Bart was really a girl, and he had about 10 baby hamsters. I also found 3 baby rabbits and a guinea pig in the cage as well. Note: Those were all bigger than him. Where does my brain come up with this stuff?

Yeah, I never post anything about this, but it just keeps bothering me.  I'm just frustrated with everything.  I feel like it is rare for anything good to happen.  I'm in a job that I hate, and can't seem to get employed elsewhere.  I also do not go out for fun that often, unless it is by myself.  I would love to go out with friends, if they lived closer, or existed here.  Of course, the low self-esteem gets in the way, and I am too afraid to meet new people because I automatically think everyone will think and label me a loser.  And that gets in the way of getting a job or calling strangers.  I'm single too.  It isn't bad, but I would really like a boyfriend.

I'm starting to believe that although writing is fun, I'm just doing it to fill the emptiness in my life.
